The power of it is unreal.THIS is why I love metal and started playing guitar so many years ago.

These days, anyone can write an old parkway song. Tune a guitar to drop B and chug away. This was so much more than a metalcore song. There was layering, tone colours, and skilful composing. Living only a few hours away from where the band grew up, I’ve been really fortunate to have been to dozens of parkway gigs and this by far is my favourite song from them. KWAS and Horizons were brilliant in their own right, but this is a masterpiece

Only people that become aware of the fact they're growing dark can feel what's layered all in this masterpiece I've had it on repeat at work for days now and it puts me in a "special" place without fail every time. Awesome react brother and sister loved the authenticity 💯🖤

One of those songs that is sad in the beginning, but when they throw the heavy instrumentals it becomes happier. Good vibes.

Same reaction here, this song is just epic in all ways!
@d3athperception8282 жыл бұрын
Its great besides the 3 repeats of the line "and the night grows darker still" in the chorus but I guess it's fitting because of the 3 layered head on the art work.

Yeah, amazing. I appreciated it more after a few listens, but it looks like it hit you after one. I totally understand. That slow build is so necessary, it sets the solo up and makes it so impactful. A real masterpeice. This album will have such an epic feel, which that song could finish it perfectly.

They could have said.. 'Parkway Drive feat Sergio Leone - Darker Still' and the only thing I could say would be 'makes fucking sense'. One of the best songs they've made, in my opinion. Tieing the album art into (all the singles, but still) the visualizer and kind of showing the ideas of concepts they used was super fucking cool. Might be a top 5 album of the year, depending on the non-singles. I'd say this has bars, but that's what singles are for. Bars. Singles. Get it? I'm here all week 😀

I didn't like this song on it's own, in the context of the album it works so fucking well. Never bee ashamed of music doing that to you, it's such a human feeling when a piece of music catches you in the gut like that. Last time for me was seeing Tool doing fear innoculum live in Dublin. After all the lockdowns and shit, first live gigs first time seeing tool and the lights the sound the crowd just got me. I burst out in tears

and it is still there and luckily they aren't still creating the same old same old as that would be hella boring after all these years. A long lived band's music is always going to change as they themselves change, so maybe I agree with you but I certainly aren't going to hate on them for not still writing the same old stuff.
