Till didn't have the best relationship with his mother after the father passed and Richard's mother together with his stepfather were horribly physically and emotionally abusive to him so hearing these lyrics with both of their vocals... oof! And it's definitely continuation of Mutter. While that one was all about anger, hurt and hate towards the mother, this one is acceptance. Never forgetting what she's done but realising that she's still the mother and without you she has no one left. And if you're able to, it takes a lot of courage and big balls to get to that point, not many can. 10/10 song.

The first time I listened to Meine Tranen I thought "When did Till meet my mother?". Words stay with you far longer than any other form of abuse and damage people just as much at times. Having said that, it's a beautiful, beautiful song and Till's voice is just wonderful. Why does this brilliant man make me want to cry so much ? First Zeit, now Meine Tranen.

Probably one of my favorite songs. What a masterpiece.😍😍😍 SO A more oppressive SONG. Reminds very much of the song "Puppe" from the last album, or "Wiener Blut" from Liebe ist für alle da (2010). Especially what the beginning of the 1st sounds of the guitar but also lyrically. In this song, is told of a toxic relationship between mother and adult son. The mother lets out the hate (beatings) and contempt on her son, because her relationship with the father went to breaks. The son, however, tries to take the father/husband role but without success. Unfortunately, the son does not dare to defend himself and even to counter violence, he lets the blows patter on him. The mother always has the man image in front of her eyes, that a man does not cry and does not show any emotion. But as the son starts to cry, she has only pure contempt left and declares him a weakling. The lyrics state: A man cries only when his mother dies, Death is strong the heart is weak, When his own flesh and blood corrupt, The wiser yields. Such a profound, depressing song, it gives you goosebumps!!!! Sorry for my bad English, isn't my mother language. 😅😅😅 Greeting from Switzerland

Till Lindemann’s father Werner Lindemann was a was a German writer & poet. He was best known in the 1970s for his children's books, which showed a poetic vision of everyday life. In addition to his children's poetry, from the 1980s onwards, he published several books such as Aus dem Drispether Bauernhaus ("From the farmhouse at Drispeth") and The Roggenmuhme. These and other books were based on observations and memories of his youth. He describes nature, family life in the countryside, and day to day life under the socialist regime of the DDR. For example, in the book Mike Oldfield im Schaukelstuhl: Notizen eines Vaters ("Mike Oldfield in the Rocking Chair: Notes of a Father"), Lindemann contrasted the memories of the narrator, a parent, the views and ambitions of his son; the book remarked on the differences of character among educated people in different social systems, but also showed their similarities. I think Till Lindemann was very heavily inspired by his father.

Favorite No... I don't know 😅 It's difficult again to rank the songs on this album...the WHOLE album is amazing! It's always amazing how well Till addresses topics in songs, including abuse, domestic violence or even the beauty surgery madness. There are so many people who are turning their backs on the whole thing, but secretly tearing their mouths open about it in hostility 😑 Rammstein do everything right! That's why I love this band so much, and have for many years! Haha, I heard Rammstein for the first time when I wasn't even 9 years old 😆🙈 I'm curious about your reaction to "Lügen" (!👍👍!), but first "Dicke Titten" 😁

Till tells stories in his lyrics about all forms of love. But most of them have nothing to do with his own life. This is about a loveless woman who completely dominates her husband and son. The father has probably committed suicide and the son is too weak to assert himself against the domineering woman. There are families like that.

definitely my favourite off the album, so many songs deal with the passage of time, its how i've felt throughout covid looking back more than being present or looking forward so i've just been digging the lyrics of this album, but this one, adieu, and zeit have just embodied how i've been feeling.
@lucas333082 жыл бұрын
My interpretation is that yes maybe the story is from one of the band members but mostly showing abusive relationship where the mother is the villain not only fathers are agents of toxic masculinity there are women that because of their family environment are toxic and misogynistic towards their companion and children. Not every mother is a good mother.
@Dnz-zg5km2 жыл бұрын
I don't know if someone answered the question already about Tills inspiration or reason for the lyrics. It is known, that he has a very good relationship to his mother. Only member of the band who mentioned some difficulties growing up with his mother is Richard, the vocal gitarist. I can imagine he might have something to do with the background of the song. Same goes for "Mutter". Anyway, great reaction again. Thank you from Rammland

I was thinking about more at Richard at this one. And Till is his best mate, so it could be. I also was reading an article or a post around the time as the newest Emigrate-Album came out, that Richard mentioned, that he was able to cry the first time in his life and that it was really releasing. He and his mother did not have the best relationship. Like myself and mine. For all, who are interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYjUXmZvnq-Ge5o there are English subtitles and even if he might be a "little drama-queen" for some. I know, where some stuff is coming from, because I had similar experiences with my own father and mother. It is a reason, why he is as he is and I still love him as he is. I love them all for their individual personality. And yes, I was reading this too and saw the pic. with Till and his mother. Enjoy the evening.

@@MrXploited1 He often does this. "Weisses Fleisch", "Wiener Blut" and so on. He often writes it as the 1st person character, did you never notice that. besides there is a song with only Richard and Till. Do you don't know about Richard's side project Emigrate and their song "Let's Go" kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4uco5KegK6Ip6s They have quite some "sh..." behind them, also together. It is also a pity that people hardly know about Emigrate, because Richard's band, has several good songs, like "war": kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2iWmYaah66KnK8 If you want to understand Richard more, then "dive" a bit into his history. He had it rough. I guess that is one of the reason why I get Richard more than some others out there. Because we both had it rough. Anyways, nobody has to of course, it is only sometimes hurting me to see, how people are judging him, without knowing a lot. Good night.
