Fun fact, the helicopter that got blown up is a joke at the expense of three non-canon disciples of Mr. Satan who were shoved into the anime and did nothing but stand around being obnoxious. Team Four Star hated them SO MUCH that they edited this scene of them being killed before entering the situation, and Kaiser, the editor, had to painstakingly Photoshop them out of every single frame of this series from that point onwards. Purely out of spite. Trust me, they did us all a favor.

Piza, Caroni and Peroshki are filler characters. They're supposed to be Mr. Satan's manager and his 2 students and take up a lot of annoying screen time interwoven into the cell fight in the anime, to the point it wasn't even able to be cut from kai. Tfs were able to remove them from shots they needed to use, which took an ungodly long time, and blowing them up in the helicopter was their way of addressing it. Not enough props goes to their editor Kaiser for how much work that must've been

He is forever annoyed by the one shot during the fight where Goku gets knocked back after Cell sings and they are there, because he forgot to remove them from it sadly.

The show had such momentum to that point, the question became what to do with these new-to-us characters. Rather than spending the DBZA time to create the three new characters, having them to a Pokemon-style intro as do meaningless rival Television station was the better way, even though it took that monumental task. He didn't maintain the same power level when he split. His power level was divided into four parts. That's how the multiform technique works. Although, I think all of that power gets returned to the original when the copies get taken out. Don't quote me on that part though. I'm not quite sure.

I think this moment, more than probably any other, really reminds us that Goku is NOT a human. What he values and what he thinks makes sense are built around a completely different set of instincts. Goku has a good spirit and a good heart so his decisions tend to work out for the best but, as we can see, a fair and honest fight is the most important thing that Goku thinks is happening today.

Skygina is a reference to the Garlic Jr. movie, he opens a portal in the sky that looks vaguely vagina shaped and at the end we find out its all been Krillin pitching his movie idea to producer Nappa. Krillin then loses his creative rights to a convoluted contract, gained nothing from it and then it was apparently made starring Mr. Satan. Would've loved to have some interaction between Krillin and Satan about that, but I don't think they ever share the screen together to make it work here

Goku combining the Kame-hame-ha with Instant Transmission is a *devastating* move. Shame it isn't used more often. The Instant Kame-hame-ha is an iconic move, after all. It's so iconic, that in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Saiyans get a borderline game breaking passive ability. When your character goes Super Saiyan, if you fully charge, for example, a Kame-hame-ha or Gallick Gun, you use Instant Transmission to teleport right up to the enemy you're targeting and give them a face full of beam. Some attacks that can be charged do *heinous* damage, too. There's one version of the Kame-hame-ha that's *very* short range, like you need to be point blank when it goes off or it does *absolutely nothing* but look pretty for a second or so, but it only works *if* you fully charge it. It's short range, but the hitbox for it is big, so a Super Saiyan means it's all buy guaranteed to land and do the full aforementioned *heinous* damage.

In the original show when Goku gave Cell a Senzu bean, everyone was scared and questioned Goku's judgment, everyone except Gohan. Gohan showed no shock or fear when he saw Goku do it. If anything, his only fear was for Cell's personal safety.
