I have the s5 and the gas is not that bad If you drive like an elderly person I have a Porsche 4 cylinder and gas is similar except the tank is bigger. when it comes to insurance that really depends on the person and state I would assume. but w.e you get hope you enjoy it.

im doing this to my 2018 A3 ...i put a front spliter on it , dechrome, new rear diffuser now im waiting on the new side skirts and lowering springs... great video mate !!

I bought the RS style front bumper for my old A3 about a year ago Mat. Fit like a dream. No modifications required generally the fitment on they’re stuff is pretty good. Hopefully you don’t have much hassle with yours. Gonna look great when the A5 is finished 😎

I bough my 15 Audi A5 last November and within a week my headlight went out so I changed both and man where they a pain to change out you really make it look easy!

To cure your headlight problem you have to take out the full housing and clean the lens from inside, generally the lens tend to accumilate haze from use over time. I had the same issue on my A5 B8 and cleaned the lens and the difference is day and night.

Bought a '14 S5 just a few months ago and have been watching these closely for mod ideas, keep em up! Kind of a longshot but have you or any of your mechanic friends experienced a creaking/rattle coming from around a wheel when going over bumps/mounting inclines? 2 mechanics have looked at the suspension on the corner it comes from and can't see anything wrong and one thinks it might be my axle for that wheel. Thankfully both mechanics heard it loud and clear so I'm not crazy.

The car has to get wrapped nardo grey. It's an Audi colour so it makes sense will look amazing with gloss black bits here and there and the new bumpers will elevate the looks of this car for sure. Can't wait to see how it turns out! Good luck on the build mate 💯💯

Mat I bought the k&n air filter for mine and was disappointed in the sound but after cleaning the air filter after a few months I noticed that the lid on the original air box is killing all the sound. Unfortunately it’s needed as the filter will not slip directly onto the pipe so I got a dremel and cut 3/4 of the lid just leaving the 2 back screws closest to the bulk head so the filter can still be attached to the remaining lid and the 2 screws hold it in place nicely. Now sounds awesome and a second hand air box are cheap enough if I do decide to go back to original. Undo all the screws lift the lid a bit and start the car and hear the difference when you rev her.

The k and n isn't really made for noise. By keeping it in the enclosed box your keeping it cool from heatsoak off the engine. A open filter may sound good but it'll decrease your cars performance a fair bit broo

Mat Armstrong thanks for your reply, did you notice a performance gain when you fitted the filter because I didn’t what your saying does make sense the colder the air the more oxygen so better performance, I’ve kept the bottom of the air box there so it’s still receives cool air from the pipe that’s connected to the top of the grill but I will have to wait until we get a hot day in the summer to see if I get any drop in performance really. At the moment I’m loving the sound difference but it’s costing me a fortune as I’m putting my foot down all the time. On your TT how was the air filter kept cool when you fitted the induction kit or should I say when your missis fitted it, I know you had to put a heat shield where the pipe when above the manifold but wasn’t that filter left exposed, did you notice any gain on the TT or the s5 with the k&n or would you recommend a different brand to really gain performance

Nah not really on NA engines the increase will be very very minimal. On the TT it lost power due because of heat soak but sounded good 😂 but we see it alot at work where people spend fortunes of induction kits which are open and once they are on the dyno it actually loses power and they end up much better off with the standard filters and air box in

Mat Armstrong keep up the good work mate your videos are given me the drive to do work on my car, I’ve got the A4 Quattro 3.0 v6 and everything part wise looks the same as your s5 apart from the engine 😂😂 and your new RS breaks we also done the same things when purchasing the car, service, K&n air filter and Le Mans wheels. My steering wheel is the same too go in a straight line but steering wheel off centre. I’ve had all the tracking done with lasers on computer but it’s still the same so can’t wait to see how you get that sorted been assured nothing is bent, I could talk to you all day mate about cars, I will stop bugging you now and wait until your next video is out I’m sure your a busy man, legend 😎

Hi Matt, great work on the S5 and felt your pain with the rear suspension! Now you have fitted the coilovers and adjusted the ride height to your liking it might be worth getting a full geometry/suspension set up including getting it corner weighted, this will get you the most out of the upgrades you have fitted and make the handeling even better.

Love to see this wrapped in a Glossy Beige colour .. the bright colours are ok but you’ll get bored of it quickly .. never seen anyone get a beige wrap but have seen an RS6 that colour and that with black touches like grill , wing mirror ect would look gorgeous

Least they sorted the headlights out on these. On my b7 rs4 you have to drop the front bumper just to change a side light bulb 😂 loving all the vids so far! Good to see the v8’s getting some love!

Don't use a breaker bar to try and strain stuck bolts out. Use an impact gun or an impact driver. Failing that, hammer the head flat on the top to shock the threads. Plusgas dismantling spray will help enormously too.

Matt, you’ll need a Capristo Exhaust system to fill those RS5 oval exhaust ports. The Capristo would also help give your S5 the RS5 growl!!

I think you'll get more light if you replace xenons reflectors as they probably burned out,I had same problem with lights in A6 C6 replaced HID bulbs and nothing change,when I replaced reflectors and cleaned up inside headlight lens and polished headlights glass cover then light back to game even with old HID bulbs,btw fill up fuel tank to full then adjust coilovers

My 2011 A5 has xenon headlights plus package. They're brilliant. Even driving on unlit country roads they're pretty good. I guess you have the standard ones?

Hi Mat! @5:55 you can see that the arrow that indicates the rotation of the discs is wrong.. you must have the discs full of dirt inside, they´re working wrong! Cheers from Argentina!

Hell yeah thx for the discount code bro right on time. Since you were messing with the airbox to remove the headlight, have you opened it up yet and removed the big ass plastic divider between the filter and the actual inlet? If you open up the box you'll see right away what I meanthere is a plastic wall that diverts the are coming in from outside straight to the bottom of the box. I know a lot of people have and I have as well cut that out with a dremel and for me personally the air coming into the box thus hitting the filter immediately was noticeableas far as pick up or response is concerned and maybe that was just a placebo effect but that works for me because I'm the one driving lol. Definitely check it out bro.

12:01 it fits on to the painted splitter on the front and they can’t sell Audi badges because of copy right best option is to get a oem rs5 grill if it fits then you can either have it black or aluminium look

Like the car, but when measuring the ride height you should do it from the bottom of the rim to the wheel arch, just a bit more accurate than guessing the middle of the rim.

Definitely recommend aux beam bulbs. yes they cost a bit but they are worth it. I've tested some cheap LED bulbs and they are not worth it at all

I have the same (year) car and the headlights are Xenon bulbs and I think they are really good. Maybe you could do a video on refurbishing the front of the lens of the headlamp.

The problem with B8 headlights is the frosted projectors, EM Tuning do the clear lense upgrades + RGB DRL'S

If you decide to paint the bumpers be sure to make them strip off and reapply the primer. On the BMW reproduction bumpers I've used the primer was absolute trash. People have been able to blow off chips of the new paint with just compressed air.

Hopefully you have learned that then you put a breaker bar on the bolt and it does not move as it should then heat is the best solution to break the corrosion in the bolt thread.....works every time.

LED lights arent on all the time, they turn on and off at a certain frequency to save energy. The camera takes pictures at a certain frequency to produce a video, and in some of the frames the frequency of the LED and the frequency of the camera line up in a way so the camera takes pictures while the LEDs are in their off state. This happens with any LED lights.
