I've been married for 18years. From the beginning there was trust. Commitment . Friendship and loyalty. Everything going well just because I'm and understanding woman. I'm forever always trying to put up with all his childish acts and overexedurating personality. He always want people to think and look at him like a Perfect person. But he is Highly educated. Intelligent and outspoken hard working ambitious. Person. That's how he raised to success. He was nothing when we were fresh into our relationship. I stood by him with all his pain. Heart breaks challenges within his professional environment. But as his money grew. So did his ego.

"Be his peace" sounds a lot like one of those strategies where you have to be thankful to be chosen by a man and give stuff so that he won't leave. Maybe that's not what was meant. I won't do that though, I have no problem sharing good things if I feel like it but he can have his own peace, he doesn't have to be co-dependent on a woman's lifestyle.

I feel at peace in the relationship when he follows through on his word. When he says we'll do something together, and he steps up to make it happen without letting anything stop him. When he says he's going to create something for me, and doesn't let anything sway him from doing so. And since we are One, I see how I need to apply these rules to myself - not outwardly, but inwardly, by holding myself accountable to follow through on the steps in my own dream and set an example/lead the way to the Possible... and to push myself to be Better at Life.

Someone who messages me or talks to me when he says he will, but also lets me know when he won't be able to. He sets up this expectation that I will be silent for part or all of the day, and that makes me feel like he cares and that I am important in his life. On the first dates, as a woman, you try to be nice, easygoing, relaxed...I mean you are just having a date with a guy that you don't know very well..so, you just relax...of course men like that, everybody likes that. The problem is that you start a relationship with this guy and you try to keep this "peace". And somehow your role is being (consciously) a nice happy person, which is good. But, that's dangerous territory: the correct guy is going to appreciate and value you. The wrong guy is going to want to take advantage of that. And they are going to push and push and push...to see how long or how deep are you willing to keep this "peace". So that good trait of you, it's becoming your worst sentence. But, because you are naturally a nice, easygoing person you don't put much attention in the beginning, until you feel you are empty inside, and you realize he doesn't care about you. He only wants to take, not to be bothered, suck all your energy and feel the "peace". And if some day you try to ask something or tell him anything, he is going to get mad and you become an annoying woman. So...I don't buy it.

Agreed! Human nature. Givers attract takers. If you're a giver, of course it makes a man feel content. And he'll take whatever you're willing to give for as long as he can - without giving back - until his time runs out. But you've got a serious problem if he can't accept rejection because he THINKS he's a giver and just doesn't get it.

Peace P - positive possibilities. E - embrace the present moment. A - accept yourself. C - certain. E - engage the fun. I feel my man is reaping all these things from me. But as I have trouble sometimes communicating with him, time the issue not my speaking, my needs are not being met. I don't get to have fun with him doing something he planned. We can live in the moment when we're together but not together enough. I'm not feeling like a priority. So I don't have 100% peace. He feels like 'home' to me when he is fully present with me. But..... We are not kids. We are in our 60's.

Hi everyone, What helps me feel at peace in a relationship is quality quiet time. Doing separate things but being near each other in silence. For instance, Them resting while I read on their lap. Or just cuddling together while music plays in the background. Being able to make a joke and them add to it without it seeming forced or ill-timed. Having similar interests a/o finding new hobbies and interests to start together.
