Certainly not for everyone in a society that thrives on instant gratification. We did LD for 3+ yrs. Not sure how we did it but love certainly. We always tried to have a plan when it came to seeing each other again but occasionally it didn't happen. We had goals for sure. Soo here we are 4 years later. 😊 We live 7 minutes apart. Only living apart due to a parents illness and looking after them in home. All worth it! Little bumps in road just make us stronger and show our commitment.

This is a great video. These types of videos are always appreciated. Thank you. I'm not trying to sound negative, but I had to give up a LDR for many reasons. The one main reason that was a major sign was because I was told by her, for lack of better words, it all depends on you and you better not disappoint me because I'm going to have to give up everything and everyone I've ever loved, known, grew up with to be there with you. First off, no one's asking anybody to give up anything. I really thought about it and asked advice and everyone said that it is a recipe for disaster. There's going to be a lot of resentfulness and anger if you two get together and it doesn't work out. I was told that she was putting me in a very bad position and that if anything went wrong, it's always going to be my fault and she's always going to throw it in my face that she had to give up everything. I had to make the hard decision, but for the better of both of us, I had to work on cutting it off emotionally and somewhat physically even though it was long distance. It wasn't easy, but I had to rip the Band-Aid off sooner than later. This isn't meant to disenourage anybody or put down long distance relationships as far as people who are involved in them and who have become successful with theirs. I'm very happy to hear about the success stories. Some people despite their best efforts can't make it work solely because it's long distance.

My darlings on deployment in the army at the moment and he's been there 2 months already.He has 1 month today left and he's very busy, everyday he works 12-14 hour days and is very tired every night. There were times when I almost had given up with the distance however he has certainly made sure I was the a priority to him anyway I feel safe and secure. Hello, I am in a LDR and I am sorry you've been apart from your loved one for so long. If it can help, there is a Facebook group called "Love is not tourism" that brings together couples in LDR. People support each other and, most importantly, give info about how to see your partner despite the pandemic (how are things in this country, which papers do I need to go there, with whom can I get into contact at this embassy, etc) and it really helps a lot. Many EU /US couples have been able to meet in a third country thanks to that :) hope it will help, sending you strenght !!

I was in a LDR for more than a year before the pandemic. Its really hard to have more patience to know when you can hold each other physically. It gets more tiring to just video chat everyday. Its never enough to see your partner on video. We tried our best to hold on. Good luck to all who is trying to make it trough the hardest time of pandemic. 🙏

We're about to be Sophomores in College, and I convinced him to enter a LDR with me. He said he'd give a LDR a try before saying it wasn't going to work out. Our homes are in the South, but he's in the Naval Academy up North. Almost half a year later, I finally get to see him in person again, and he tells me he doesn't want one anymore. :"D I feel like LDRs are always worth it in the end. He just wants to take his opportunities to meet new people and have someone close rather than anticipating someone that's far away. I'm willing to go to wherever my s/o will be in the future and making opportunities for myself. I'm willing to wait and work hard to maintain a healthy LDR. But it takes two to tango... I'm heartbroken before we even break up this summer (we decided that he'd take me on at least one actual date--bc I deserve one after doing so much for him--before breaking up in person). Send some love my way haha. I'll need it.
