I can't see any other way you could of fished that john those fish you caught could all have been 4lb slabs,it's the way it goes,that's fishing. Don't be hard on yourself mate.👍

When you get the Pro's turn up what's the point of fishing. They only clean up with the pools etc. Very unfair and easy pickings for those guy's.

How defeatist. They've all struggled the same as the rest of us, it's an even playing ground. I believe in my own ability, the reason they win so many is because they fish a lot more matches than us mere mortals, not taking anything away from their obvious skills. It's a law of averages, particularly on Southfield. Have a read of Steve Ringers column, he didn't think he'd ever qualify for the final after so many hard matches.

Nice video, looked good conditions for bream. Knowing it's fishing hard, why didn't you stick it out for a few big fish ? What's your long range rod ?

Just don't think there was any there willing to feed. Conditions have meant nothing in there this year, looks perfect but... Distance rod is a Browning black viper mk13

I don't know how KZbin determine who to show them to. They do show where the ad breaks will be but it doesn't necessarily translate that every one will be played. To be fair to Matt, they put too many in, I usually reduce that by a lot so there's no more than a break every 10 mins but I forgot as I was rushed to get this video edited. I've reduced the number now for a better viewer experience.

Im sorry but watching you trying to fish is painful , you have spent loads of money on your seatbox but you havent though about your options with regards to your baits. If you dont catch with 1or 2 maggots try 3 or 4 , adjust your hook size to a 14 ,12,10 even . Please dont think of me as a know it all ( TWAT ) Im not i havent entered any competitions as far as fishing goes but for the last 2 years i have taken my coarse fishing seriously , I have watched so many pro fishing vids that my wife is thinking of chucking me out . This last year i have been using what i have learned from the pro fisherman and put it into practice , i can honestly say its paying off. 2 weeks ago i went fishing in the pissing rain for 4 hrs in Portumna here in Ireland i was the only one there howling wind and rain but i managed to catch 5 beautiful F1 hybrids and 6 decent roach. Today it was shit weather here but i caught 3 nice pike which i have been able to do for ages , just because i watch loads of vids on pike fishing how to inprove myself. Once again please dont think im a dick im just trying to help if you accept my comments. 0

No mate you're entitled to your opinion, no offence taken. I try more things than I can show in a video, these take a lot of effort to make and I appreciate the two Southfield you've watched were a rough watch but the pros weren't having a good time either. I can honestly say, if they were there I'd have caught them, very much a case of drawing on some fish and I just didn't. As for pike, I catch my share. Its been a difficult season, probably the hardest in years (increased angling pressure, weather, who knows why) but I'm not alone and it doesn't stop me. I'm still out there trying and recently the fishing has been improving. Hope you stick around, you might learn something. BTW, the pros pick all the best pegs and areas to film on, they shut venues down to do so and because they can afford more time to fish more matches, the law of averages dictates that eventually they'll get a draw, not taking anything away from their talent but when you're not em you're not on em. As the saying goes, "you can't pull fish out of puddles". Tight Lines 🎣
