Richard and betty were great this episode! i love their friendship. I also think the panel were really rooting for peggy. 5:15 “from pres. Arthur” 😂 if you know, you know. if you don’t know watch episode 183. 11:43 - that was nice of charles. He knows betty is the best at getting her way with the judges. 14:40 “they’re speaking to you, dear” 😂

Brett scored her 5th head-to-head match today. Here's the updated accuracy leader board for the 7 celebs to have scored 3 or more matches so far: Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Betty - 50% (8 wins in 16 attempts). Jo Ann - 46.7% (7 out of 15 attempts). Charles - 42.9% (6 wins in 14 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Richard - 29.1% (23 wins in 79 attempts). Brett - 26.3% (5 wins in 19 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 204, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.

Just for the heck of it, I googled Leaping Lena, and the definitions that were given were: a nickname for a vehicle, a nickname for someone or something that leaps the fictional name given to a B-52 bomber in the 1944 movie The Purple Heart the name give to a 1954 cold war hero pigeon the name given to a Vietnam war counterinsurgency operation in Laos, later renamed project DELTA
@brettmiddleton7949
@brettmiddleton7949 3 жыл бұрын
It must have been a well-known, popular phrase at some time, to the point where Bob Clampett made fun of it by naming Uncle Captain Huffenpuff's ship the "Leakin' Lena" on "Time for Beany" ("Beany and Cecil"). Digging around the Web, I think I may have unraveled the pop-culture mystery. Kingfish Levinsky was a heavyweight boxing champion in the 1930s who was managed by his sister, Lena Levy. She was apparently very colorful and well known in her own right and was nicknamed "Leaping Lena" for her antics at ringside. I suspect this was the origin of the phrase, later applied to vehicles and other things, including a fishing lure that was made starting in the late 1930s. I can't find any earlier references to the phrase, and most of the uses seem to have arisen in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. So my guess is that this was "Greatest Generation" pop culture, immortalizing "Leaping Lena" Levy.

Bite is to press the teeth into something; attack with the jaws, bill, sting, etc.; snap:, String is to use, have, or wound with a sting, as bees. Richard and Betty agreed with the match as well. Since everyone was happy that Richard corrected Ira earlier about whales so you going to complain now that Richard was wrong???

@@annademo Oh really, Fire ants bite then sting from their abdomen. Solenopsis are stinging ants, and most of their common names reflect this, for example, ginger ants and tropical fire ants. So you don't need a stinger to sting..

As someone else pointed out, "sting" and 'bite" are not the same. This woman was able to win a lot of extra money, because she was given matches that she didn't deserve. If the firefighter had gotten that question and given the same answer, would they have been so liberal in his case? He should have protested.
