We call it 炸棗(zha zao, the soft ones ) or 麻粩 (ma lao, the crispy ones ) in Taiwan. They always covered with sesame seeds and filled with peanut paste, red bean paste and also taro paste. Penghu and Kaohsiung have the best 炸棗. And everywhere in Taiwan has good 麻粩. Don’t forget to try them next time you come to Taiwan.

In Indonesia, we call it "Onde Onde". We use peeled mung bean for the filling, and as a matcha lover, I think it's a great idea to add a matcha powder into it.. 😍💚

we call it buchi over here. we tried cooking it at home but failed, the ball keeps popping open when frying. will try the temperature you suggested and hopefully it will be a success.

I'm curious. I wanna know what the purpose of the process of mixing the beans with water then discarding the water that rises to the top is. Can someone explain to me?
@bqpdobqpd2 жыл бұрын
I was curious too, so looked up and it said the process removes scum dissolved in water and is commonly used in bean paste making🫘 So much work put into a treat I can gobble down in a few seconds!!😳
@rafaelperalta16762 жыл бұрын
@@bqpdobqpd ahh. That makes the final product much more refined and cleaner in taste. Thanks for taking the time to explain. Greatly appreciated! Same, I can make that vanish in a moment too. 😅
@ΗλέκτραΔράκογλου2 жыл бұрын
Water removes the toxins from the beans. Also makes them softer, also you have to leave them for more than 5 hours. Was one of the first lessons in my uni, I study dietology

This video is as delicious to watch as all your recipe videos. But I won't be making this one. I don't have the patience for all those steps.
Jolies boulettes, mais plus simple si l'on vient le manger chez vous et on apporte le dessert!😇, chez nous on enlèverait jamais les protéines aux haricots blancs sauf si tu bois son l'eau au si tu te fais une soupe avec du miso.
Did you just invent a new wagashi or this already exists in Japan? I thought it was going to be a regular nerikiri with sesame around until the mochiko came out and it was fried. I bet it is delicious!
@PallasAthene122 жыл бұрын
I don’t know about Japan but a very similar dish already exists in Chinese cuisine. Fried sesame balls are usually made with lotus seed paste though and are a bit larger but basically the same concept. They’re really delicious.
@roseinjapan2 жыл бұрын
It exists in Japan (although I don't know how similar the recipe is). It's called "goma dango" and it is well known as a dessert of Chinese origin in Japan. I've never seen one with matcha in it though! It looks delicious 😋
