This one brought back some memories. My first car was a 1969 cougar and I wish To this day I still had it. The paint was royal blue and really rough but it did have both doors. I mowed a lot of yards and did all kinds of odd jobs to save up and buy the car for a grand total of 800.00, which was a lot of money for a 16 year old kid back then. Ran like a top. Never had to do anything to it. I'm 58 years old now so that's been one or two days ago. Lol. Keep up the good work, wes

Awesome! That first-generation Cougar was a sharp-looking car (later generations, not so much), and that paint looks great. You're right, it does make the model look like a slightly-aged brass casting.

When the Ford Capri was marketed in America, it was done so as the 'Mercury Capri'. It seems like 'Mercury' became Ford's marketing name for imported vehicles, such as Ford vehicles not originally made for the U.S. market; or vehicles they were unsure of the potential sales of. The irony with the Capri was that it was designed by the same bloke who designed the Ford Mustang, Philip Clark. Your finished custom? It's a thing of beauty. Love it.

Fantastic! The best enhancement was the wheel choice. The turbine-style wheel covers are classic and suit it perfectly. Perhaps "Aunt Sally's Sunday Driver", but this is spot on. Two suggestions for future videos: 1) even after turning the sound up on youtube and my computer, the narration is very soft spoken and barely a whisper....inaudible at points 2) fill in the tow hook gap in the rear bumper with filler, and then respray the base silver, or otherwise black and cover the grille and bumpers with chrome pen. Well done! Thanks.

I've known two people who owned late 1960's Cougars. One was a older neighbor lady who had a celery green one. The wheels looked surprisingly similar to the ones you put on your model. The other person was a class mate. His was white with a hounds tooth check black and white vinyl top.
