Matchbox restoration Land Rover No. 12, toy repair and renovation, toy car makeover

No windshield frame and no steering wheel and hook - I had to produce these three elements. I cast the frame and steering wheels from resin, and made the hook from a nail. The previous owner painted it white. Land Rover No. 12 - the cult Matchbox model, very often copied toy in various countries, including Poland.

This is not a typical airbrush, it is a miniature ordinary spray gun Made in Taiwan. And the compressor is low pressure 1.5 bar.

I drove a Landrover very similar to this one when I was drafted in the Dutch army but mine was hooded to keep me and the radio installation dry😅 Also, the front grill was made of aluminium. It could be removed very easily and during wintertime we would place cardboard as cheap insulation behind the grill so the engine could keep us warm.

I'm still amazed with how you can take an abused neglected toy and make it look like new again. Beautiful job. If you do another windshield frame investigate the flat staples that they use on cardboard boxes, they come in various sizes and may be useful.

Super restoration. These Lesney Land Rovers were produced from 1959, and onwards. This example could be 60 years old. Great repairs on the broken parts.

do not press the other side of the wheel road by the pressing tool, use drill machine ones the wheels all get inserted on the rode by yourself then use machine and make the edges all smooth making it locked up and wheels get traped along with the road itself.
