Summer of ‘97.... I turned 15 in August that year and this song will forever take me back. Legit was the last summer truly being a kid,. I grew so much in all aspects that summer. Went from riding bikes to our buddies and daily nonsense to chasing girls, first legit g/f, parties... just a social explosion. - I ran in to this former g/f recently and told her this song will always remind me of her. - 24 years ago.... seemingly another lifetime.... so much has happened since... yet this song is forever cemented in time and into my memory to a time when the world seemed so much slower and we had our whole lives in front of us.... I always have and always will stop and turn up the volume when I hear them start to play those first few chords. Always.

I know your feeling, bro. I´m 39 and I often found myself thinking about my twenties, old songs make me suddenly cry out of nowhere. I guess we all found certain confort in those golden years, but is also painful to realize they are gone. But hey, to be fair we have the beautiful present to focus on... Ps: the pandemic/plandemic has also been brutal to all of us, is normal that we are sensitive, but that´s also a sign (hopefuly) that we are more in touch with our spiritual side.

I used to like this song also and then I read the lyrics. Did you actually read all of them? The lyrics are extremely toxic and it's exactly how narcissistic individuals behave in relationships. Only very toxic people would try to push their partner down or anyone else down because they feel bad about themselves and their own lives. That kind of behavior in any relationship is absolutely sick and toxic and is called emotional abuse. Just FYI, in case you were unaware.
@GavySunner Жыл бұрын

Yes but don't misinterpret the song where you want to flex your macho muscles and think you can abuse a woman. That's not what the song is about at all. It's about woman from an abusive relationship who, not trusting men and an emotional train wreck going into this new relationship and projecting her paranoia and mistrust of men causing a terrible strain in the relationship and mental suffering on the part of the man, who is the one who feels abused.
