Hey man, a comprehensive video on changing out a tire. Well done but I do know how to. What I didn't know was that sic replacement tire you put on. Ty so much. Had to order them for my bike. Thx once again

Great video and well presented! Worth pointing out that the excess part of the "Zip ties/tie wraps" on the bikes wiring have been cut at an angle instead of flush with the end of the fat part of the zip tie - This is very dangerous as it leaves a sharp edge sticking out that can badly cut skin when working on the bike. You can see an example of this at 2:01 on the video which shows the zip tie around the motor cable.

Thanks for doing this video, well done! I've been putting off doing this pre-emptive tire puncture prevention for two weeks since my backorder of Mr. Tuffy finally arrived. I've watched another KZbinr demonstrate this but only serviced the front tire. Tackling the rear tire made better sense for a 'how-to' video. You sir, did it that as changing the rear tire is more labor intensive. This is my first e-bike and my biggest concern (other than theft) is catching a flat in the rear. I've installed tire liners many times on my road bikes, but a fat tire e-bike is an entirely different beast. Again, thank you for this video it is appreciated!

just a tip, if you spray the liner with Car Headliner spray and then let it get tacky, it will hold the liner in place a bit better so it doesn't slide on you :) Thank You for the great video!

Great video, very useful instructions on changing tires! The middle tire is not unbranded, it's a DURO tire, made in Taiwan by a Taiwanese manufacturer called DURO, as the sidewalls show on your tire. I have used them, very good price for the quality offered. :)
@ebikeparts-shop24 күн бұрын
Yes we now stock Duro at eBike Parts. Street Hog is just an additional branding sometimes added to sell more tires to us Westerners.

60 odd year old biker here (Cycles and Motorbikes). I thought it was common knowledge that you seat the tyre into the rims by 'bouncing' the wheel around the circumference at low pressure then increase the pressure slightly and repeat until the tyre appears to be seated correctly - there's usually a mark around the sidewall that shows where the rim should meet the rubber, then inflate to the correct pressure and recheck the sidewall / rim relationship. First time I've come across your mr tuffy tyre protector, so I will be researching that, but is the addition of this and slime a bit overkill? Personally I think slime adds to the unsprung mass, and causes imbalance in the wheel due to the semi viscous nature of it (more relevant to motorcycles).

I'm over 66. Almost everyday ebike rider. I have 2 fairly new ebikes. One folder, one moped style. I'm going to motorcycle tires before winter.

You'd be surprised how many questions we get about seating the tire. I think because most fatbike owners come from the cycling world, and narrow tires rarely have seating issues. As for both slime and tire liner, on an eBike it depends on the power of the motor. Both slime and tire liners add rotational weight to the wheel, putting extra demand on the motor which affects accelleration and range - even if only slightly. I've stopped using slime since making this video, and it turns out I never needed it.

what i would suggest as an upgrade since i notice your running a 14-28 freewheel is upgrade to a road bike short cage derailleur like i did on mine and shifting is much smoother and you dont have all that chain slap and less likely to clip the derailleur on something since it hangs so low Take a look at my profile picture you can see my derailleur is much closer to the center hub even though mine is a mid drive system it will make a Hugh difference in shifting

Hi, sorry for the late late late reply!. In case anyone is reading your comment, I can inform that while Mr. Tuffy still isn't available in the EU, Tannus Armour is a great alternative, and we will stock that at www.eBikeParts.shop from mid-january 2025.

Hi! Thank you so much for this video! I recently got a mint condition second hand Mate X 750 and I'm a bit surprised how fast the battery depletes. After riding like a dozen km on flat roads the display shows 92% left. Would you say it looks normal? I just ordered a pair or vee tires speedster (skin wall) along with 4 inner tubes. I hope it will help making the battery last a little longer... Also could you point me to which Mr Tuffy liner to buy for this bike? I thank you very much and wish you all the best !

I have a question, the ebike in video originally had 20 x 4 inch tires they were replaced with 20 x 4.25 inch tires, will the 20 x 4.25 fit on my Lectric XP which came with 20 x 4?

2.125" rims don't like 3" tires. I would not bother with removing derailleur unless needed.

The rim size is important, next to the diameter of the rim.

The reflector should be 180 deg opp valve stem not 90 deg, I would happily take that Vee tyre off your hands, I would use it on the front, put in a Rema Tip Top tyre patch, run 10psi

Hey bro, why your cassette is so dirty with grease ? Always keep it perfectly clean with no lubricant on. Only thing you need to lubricate is chain and also just little bit of special oil on each little chain tube. If you have grease on cassette wheels than dirt and sand will stick to it and slowly damage . Peace
@Matt369oi2 жыл бұрын
Friendly suggestion. Your drivetrain needs a good cleaning and less lube. You can tell your drivetrain was over-lubricated because it collected a lot of dirt.

Where do you people ride at I've got 2,500 mi on my bike never had a flat..... I would never use flat out in my tires. I have 26 by 4 fat tires on a cheap e-bike😮 some of you😅 people just worry too much you got your freaking flashing strobes and your helmets and your reflective clothing and your special pants just go ride your bike quit making a big deal out of it. The lot more fun just to go jump on your bike and not be scared to die
