Soooo! I added them on but then made the realization, I have the stock motor and don’t plan to upgrade it, this ended up showing me that these on a stock motor will drain the battery significantly since they are heavier like you said… I think this makes sense if the motor can handle it, but I was also getting too much battery loss and the pedal assist was crying hard haha! Just wanted to post it here for everyone, but it makes sense if your motor is more powerful. I was sad to see the tires not work the way I wished, but maybe I’ll save them for a motor upgrade if I ever go that route. I did notice the off center bumps from your experience too, I ended up realizing to lay it on its side while inflating, but it still ended up getting wobbly 😭 Hope I can find a good puncture proof tire that fits a little better, but maybe less weight for the motor? Im going to double on tire liners now to test this theory… but dang! Thank you again for your videos! Im subscribed still! Haha 🖖🏼😆

1:35 you didn’t lose torque, you increased the inertial mass of the tire, which simply requires more torque(watts or horsepower to be specific) to bring up to speed, so your static torque is the same, but acceleration is slightly decreased because of the larger mass you need to get rotating, parasitic loss essentially. The weight of the tire would not affect overall top speed, as once the tire is spinning, it doesn’t take any more power to keep it spinning at any given speed if it weighs more. The only thing a heavier tire will affect is acceleration. I have a question for you, I’m taking delivery of my first e-bike today and I am wondering if there is someway I can figure out what specs I should look for when upgrading, motor, controller, battery etc.? there’s got to be some equation I can plug-in to figure out what I need for an upgraded motor, battery and so on. I’m getting a dual motor with 750w constant rating with a single 52v 25ah battery. My first thought was to get dual batteries and run them in series, doubling the voltage and giving me a higher top speed, which I would assume would require a higher watt controller, but would I blow the motors out? So far all I can find on forums are just people buying larger rated things than they had before and hoping they work. my initial hunch is the first modification I should buy is a larger controller that will handle the eventual motor and battery upgrades, my question is can I buy one too large? Like if the one on my bike is rated for 25 A, will installing a 100 amp unit not work if everything else is the same? I’m not thinking it will increase performance, rather it will support later performance upgrades… maybe you can just point me in the direction of a legitimate forum that has knowledgeable people having similar discussions? ϟkål my dude!

Great video. I weighed my Shinko 244's when I got them and my scales read really close to 5.8 pounds. Did you weigh these? I read somewhere that the SR567's weigh 11 pounds each? That can't be right can it? I believe the Huntsman's weigh 4.8 pounds which is still an improvement over the flimsy 2.5 pound original tires.

You know the answer from the thumnail to this important question, I think isn't consistent . Some people report gaining speed, but losing a little range, while others claim they gain both range and speed, I think there is a handful of variables that can vary from Ebike to Ebike design that explain why certain tire upgrades have different effects on some models and not others. What I would really like to know however from the community is this: Can you safely go from a 26X4 tire down to a 20X4 tire if the original stock tire on your Ebike was a 26X4?

I saw that too. I couldn't decide what tire looked the best, so I got both. Also, I ordered a 120/80 16 for the rear and 110/80 16 for the front. The rear tire is a bit flatter for more contact, and the 80 vs. 70 should be a bit more comfortable. I am going to install these on my Ariel Rider Grizzly. Can't wait.
@Maber012 жыл бұрын
Opps. The 120/80 16 is too wide for my Grizzly. If they would fit they would most likely rub on the shocks. So I had to order the 100/80 16 for the rear.
