The Haymarket Affair/Massacre in Chicago is the spark that created International Labour Day on May 1st. This is still an official holiday around the world. I grew up in Norway, and Labour Day on May 1st is a paid public holiday (featuring labour parades around the country) and a day off for nearly everyone, including school children, students and most workers. Legally, everyone working that day is entitled to holiday/Sunday pay, which means double pay. Social democracy for the win!

You seem surprised how easily Holmes integrated himself into this town, yet John Wayne Gacy and even Bundy did the same, Holmes is just a 19th century Gacy.

I am 100% sure there is a game in the past 3 years and it's very famous horror franchise that you usually have a group and try to save them with choices etc. anyways In one of them you start in a hotel that you get killed by this creepy dude and it's a labyrinth so I am sure it's a reference to H.H

I don't know how I feel about this reading excerpts from books style of presentation. It's droning and quite soulless.

I couldn't remember where I heard about this story before until they started talking about the "murder castle" and it made me realize it was the inspiration for "Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me". I really thought they would bring that game up at some point.

Didn’t they don’t an entire season of American Horror Story loosely based on this?

I want to make a murder mansion, but instead of murder it's pancakes. A Pancake Mansion.

I really love this podcast. Thanks guys. BUT, Oh dear.... these British duos are becoming painful. As a Brit' I can say NO! Harry Enfield & Paul Whitehouse... try that. Lately however I'm just cringing over your choices Mike. Sort him out please Jesse. :)
