@@ellisscott8905 for anyone interested: iirc the roman sources that are most often quoted as proof that elagabalus was transfem are unreliable, since their authors were very hostile towards the emperor (ancient historians tended to write very subjective accounts and even make things up!). in this context, the passages about elagabalus' femininity seem more like misogynistic put-downs (claiming that another man was feminine or assumed a female role was often used as an insult by certain ancient romans) than statements of fact. some people do believe that elagabalus was a woman, though, and that's obviously totally fine, since we'll never know for sure. :)

When I saw two Victorian ladies on "The Only Way is Hertfordshire," I was like, oh, so that's a parody of The Only Way Is Essex which is kind of like The Jersey Shore over here. lol
