5:13 Each side has a name, but until they decide to tell Thomas their names, they're just called whichever concept they represent. Logan is Logic, Creativity becomes Roman, Morality becomes Patton, and Anxiety becomes Virgil. Later on in the series, we also meet Janus, who represents deceit, and Remus, who represents intrusive thoughts. I highly recommend watching the intrusive thoughts episode. Ahhhh you definitely picked a good episode to dive in on. Summary of the characters- Roman (aka Princey)- Creativity- very dramatic and acts like he's better than others Logan- Logic- Takes everything very factual and literally. Can get a lil snappy with the others Patton- Morality- Very sweet, considered the dad character. What you said about not feeling pain is so true. I have a birth defect that caused nerve damage in my feet, so I can't feel anything in them & they're completely paralyzed. And whenever I tell people I don't feel pain in them, they're like "oh, that must be nice", but.. I can't walk barefoot outside. And I'm technically not supposed to inside either, but there's much less that could hurt me. I still have to be mindful though & check my feet for scratches & stuff every so often bc I won't know if I step on something sharp & it could get infected or something. So it isn't completely terrible & life altering, but it's still annoying sometimes lol

glad you liked _sanders sides!_ it's definitely an interesting concept, but a fun one nonetheless. for the sake of understanding the four main sides better, i'll quickly explain what each of their names mean and how they correlate to the character: logan - named after aristotle's logical appeals (logos); in thomas's vines, was originally the "teacher" character patton - named after aristotle's emotional appeals (pathos), as well as the term "paternity", as patton - in thomas's vines - was originally the "dad" character; patton is thomas's heart roman - based off of romanticism and the romantic movement, a lot of romantic literary works revolved around knights/princes (hence, the nickname "princey"), plus, he was originally the "prince" character in thomas's vines virgil - latin origin of unknown meaning, theorized to mean "vigil"; the character of virgil appears in _dante's inferno,_ wherein he (virgil) guides dante out of the underworld, which is similar-ish to virgil guiding thomas and the other sides out of his room in _accepting anxiety: part two_ if you're curious about the source of all these name meanings, check out thomas's _sanders sides_ behind the scenes q&a! when scrolling through thomas's videos, it's the one uploaded right after _accepting anxiety: part two._

Oh my this is insane, i never thought that this day would come. Sanders Sides means so much to me, taught me how to deal with my mental health before i needed it and literally learned english because of it sjdjwjsksk. I've said this a few times but I'm so glad Sander's Sides was the first fandom I majorly took part in. The content is so comforting and clever with the majority of the videos having great messages in them, and the fandom was/is filled with so many kind and supportive people. Thank you fanders :)

I highly recommend watching the other 2-parters like Moving On (when they go to Patton’s room) and Selfishness Vs Selflessness (when the other Dark Sides try to sway Thomas’s opinions in their favor). The latter of these however has a few episodes in-between that are important chronologically so you’d have to watch Dealing With Intrusive Thoughts and Are There Healthy Distractions in between the two episodes of SvS. I’d also watch Learning New Things About Ourselves (takes place in between Moving On and SvS) just cause I really like that episode 😊 Or you could just do a reaction to all the songs in the show cause I’d watch that too 👀👀👀👀 Edit: Also… the songs from the Asides mini series. Thomas’s cover of Into The Unknown from OTGW is so so so good

The first sides you see in this video, Patton (the Morality side), Logan (the Logical side), and Roman (the Creativity side) are all based on the narrative ideals of Pathos, Logos, and Ethos (and there are reasons why Roman doesn't go with a name like Ethan to go with Ethos the way that Patton and Logan go with Pathos and Logos). Virgil's name comes from the poem "The Divine Comedy" AKA Dante's Inferno (a tale about a man named Dante being shown the nine rings of hell by an ancient Roman poet named Virgil who also warns Dante about each ring). As of today, there are two other sides that we have come across (and a third who is set to appear in the next video). I won't say much more on the subject as this entire series is worth watching with how fun and how deep it can get and spoilers are no fun.
