I mean, Stronger than You got me into the show because it was so badass. I watched the show a little bit when it first came out, but wound up abandoning it in favor of other shows before the season 1 finale. Then, shortly before the Pink Diamond reveal, a video came up in my recommended: Garnet being savage for 10 minutes. Stronger Than You was part of that, and I was hooked. I wanted more of that. I managed to catch up just in time for Diamond Days. When I found that video, I'd forgotten that SU ever existed, but as I was watching it, started to remember watching it the first time, and I was part of the "some gems have 2 gems" camp xD

'Here Comes A Thought' is actually about anxiety, specifically how it applies in a relationship. Steven and Connie are having problems because Connie has been upset and overly anxious due to a situation, and doesn't know how to talk to Steven about it or how to handle it. Honestly, Here comes a thought is such a beautiful song. As someone with high functioning autism, it's a song that hits different. Just, thinking about how many times I tried to comfort someone and it didn't go as planned, not being able to empathize with others "Something you said that failed to be charming". And the whole "loosing touch, loosing sight" of things, due to not knowing how to connect with people, and ending up just enjoying your little comfortable space where you are safe, but feeling so heavy for not being what everyone expects. The three reminders of "Asking yourself, finding yourself, reminding yourself" are so beautiful. And just, trusting that the people you love, love you back, "Flexibility, love and trust".

Especially in drift away the “You keep on turning pages for people who don't care People who don't care about you And still, it takes you ages to see that no one's there.” I had this toxic friend who I just let push me over and over and say all of these awful things. We finally stopped talking but, she did some things that were ruthless to me. And I really can’t let things go either, so this show was just such an amazing thing with all these things.

I have a feeling that the reason you can feel so many of the emotions behind the songs is because in the show, they talk about so many emotions, it's kinda the theme of it when you really think about it. Everything with Lapis, Peridot, Garnet (mostly the fusion and finding out who you are), Jasper (no song for her but the feels) and so many others. You can kind of feel all of these emotions that they do because the show recognizes them and talks about them. Even in the finale (? Idk what else to call it I forgot the word lol) recognized the anxiety and PTSD that Steven would have been going through and then the characters help him. It's for these reasons that it's a perfect show 🙂

Especially with your comments about music, because I had no idea about things you paid attention to. Also I just stumbled here from youtube recomendations, so I'm new, but I already can feel you're a very nice and kind person. Steven Universe is indeed show with wonderful music and is just as wonderful in passing through important message about mental health. "Stronger than you" is a song from the end of first season so you were right to admit it was a bit less impactfull compared to two first ones that are much newer, it's also more plot-related, so probably if you will watch the show it will probably get more impact then.

Drift Away is a song I’ve recently taken as a big coping means, screaming it over and over did help, it’s a big comfort source to me. This is because sort of recently I had a really good friend, we were super close and we told each other basically everything, we were comfortable saying I love you every night, actually every time a conversation ended. Recently my anxiety got really bad again and it seemed that his did as well because he was venting about much less important things than before, which is normally fine, but he also got more insistent about nothing being worth it, and when it comes to him I care so much that I can’t sleep unless I properly comfort him and reassure him. Unfortunately that was getting harder and harder to do so I had to ask him to find another outlet, maybe someone else for a little while, because my own life had also gotten stressful and it was difficult to deal with this anxiety 2 times a day on top of that. It wouldn’t have had to been a while, probably less than a month, a couple weeks maybe, just so I can catch my breath. After I talked to him about it he said it was fine with him and agreed… and then proceeded to ghost me with no further context. I’m still great friends with his boyfriend and I’m able to make sure he’s doing ok (I don’t pry into his life but I do ask how he’s doing from time to time) Not only was this losing a super close friend of mine, but it’s created a lot of doubt in my head, which has honestly not left me in the best condition. Wondering if he actually liked my company and talking with me or if he was just using me as an outlet, because if he was willing to throw me away as soon as I stopped being that, what else did he value me for? And even though his Boyfriend has insured that he did actually enjoy talking to me, it’s super difficult to really believe, if he had said almost every day that he would stick with me through thick and thin, and then he just doesn’t, then obviously every good thing he said about me was a lie. It sounds like I’m over exaggerating but that’s how you mind makes you think in these situations. I’ve given up on trying to contact him, I’ve tried a few times. I’ve said we should probably talk, just for closure so I know how he is how he feels about it, but he hasn’t replied. I’ve lost a lot of friends. Couple of years ago almost half of my friend group moved, another friend reasonably stopped talking to me (it was a healthy end to a friendship and we were both fine with it, doesn’t still hurt though) and now because of anxiety I’m barely able to actually go outside and talk to friends, only 2 of my friends will actually reply to me over text, the other two will either not reply or reply months after the fact. So I’ve lost essentially 80% of my friends, so a song about losing you friend, yeah cpkind of relatable

Here comes a thought literally saved me. I have PTSD, generalized anxiety and major depressive disorder. When I was at a very low point and was thinking about taking my own life, this song encouraged me to get help again. It reminded me to breath and let go and that I’m allowed to be upset but I can’t let it consume me. Rebecca Sugar and the Crewniverse are amazing! ❤️❤️❤️
