It ok to check hypocrisy, but check it at the same depth and lengths with equal fever otherwise you're just peddling atypical rightwing rhetoric. Thank you for the insightful interview. I think the questions towards the end were emotional charged then being firm and critical without loosing objectivity. I think it is the reason Mr. Phosa had to remind you that he is the one who is supposed to provide responses not the other way around. Even his repeated remarks about what is leadership were to emphasise the diminishing objective in the line of questioning. We trust that can improve the otherwise good and informative show.

I struggle with Matthew Phosa's "When corruption reared its head!" This does not correlate with the warning made by the like of Mandela as far as the 97 elective conferences, that the ANC was attracting members who did not share in the ideals of building a new country but rather were fixated on wealth accumulation through the state... It is either that Phosa was leading with his eyes closed, which given his profile in the ANC is doubtful, or he's being dishonest or cowardly in not reflecting on how the culture of corruption did not start with Zuma and He ought to be honest about what he saw as Zuma's qualities. Perhaps the question should be put to Mbeki, what led to Zuma's elevation at the 97 ANC elective conference...This conference represents the seminal post-94 battle for the soul of not only the ANC but the future trajectory of South Africa.
@marabunya
@marabunya Ай бұрын
The issue of infiltration of the ANC top structures dates back to before 1990 and there's a detailed report that was handed to then President Govan Mbeki and can today be found in the O'Malley Archives. That report titled "REPORT OF THE COMMISSION ON THE CABAL" lists names like Pravin Gordhan, Dullah Omar, Ebrahim, Ibrahim Patel, Billy Nair, Amos Masondo, Alf Carrim etc. Oliver Tambo himself questioned who Ramaphosa was when he made his entrance into the 1991 ANC Elective Conference where we was made Secretary General without any struggle credentials. You can't go straight to 1997 without first touching on the events that happened a decade or so before that.

@ he certainly was challenged. I imagine my goal in mind is not conducive to the long term viability of the show. I’m thinking guests must be driven to quite a high level of discomfort, assuming you feel they are being disingenuous with their answers. However, you will never have guests returning if you take this hard-line approach. Having said that, for someone like Mr Posa to say he couldn’t see the issues with Zuma is just absolutely ridiculous. It’s laughable that he said that.

@ Zuma destroyed our country chief!! Get that through your head!! Yes, Mbeki messed up BADLY with the HIV situation; but he didn’t sell our country out to the highest bidder.

Say that again. At some point these veterans must stop reminiscing about what happened and open their eyes and now and today. Black people are in poverty. It is bad. I am not sure why they are quite. I don't know why we are quite.

MP is an anc cadre and will always be. Lesufi is guilty and it can be proven, and will be hopefully soon.

Read the book authored by Julian Rademeyer, titled "Killing For Profit" then we can debate the fact how South Africa was broken. Indeed I concede that post 1994 this went wrong therefore I implore that the ANC leadership tell us the truth 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

The ANC and DA as largest parties by support and economic support must come together. Both must move to center.

Mr Phosa is a distinguished and very knowledgeable gentleman. But, his inability to use empirical data to make informed decisions illustrates a serious lack of wisdom.

If we have 3 accidents at a certain crossing per week, and I tell you it's only a matter of time before it's not only damage to vehicles or injuries that's an issue but sooner or later we'll have a fatality on our hands, it's not that I'm trying to predict the future. At some stage you'll have a fatality. It's not rocket science.

My only complaint despite the huge development successes, is Witbank was denied to host Provincial Government. Parliament should have been in Witbank not Nelspruit
