Welcome to our Custom Arrow Build for the Mathews VXR 31.5 Pro Shop Build Series. In this video, we start off a brand new Mathews VXR 31.5 build & Stage 3 Tune by first starting with how we select arrows for the proper spine. From there we take you through an upclose look at our process to go from raw shafts to complete ready to shoot arrows. This same process is used whether you come in for a new bow and arrow combo, for new arrows for your existing bow or if we ship a custom set of arrows to you.

Thanks, I use the rampage out skirt, 31 inch arrow at 532 grains (elk hunter) the Matthews 31.5 is by far the best I've ever owned. At 70 lbs it shoots a 532 grains at 273 fps. I've found that the faster and lighter I go the worst I shoot. Here in SC they think I'm crazy for shooting that arrow weight but the last 10 yrs it's killed 6 elk in in 7 shots. One was walking dead but came back for seconds. Good luck on your work up.

Does 4 fletch slow your arrow down a lot compared to a 3 fletch both right helical with offset? I notice with bigger vanes with helical and offset it hurts speed more than I though it would. I have a 4 fletch with the smaller AAE vanes the 23s I believe if they are the smaller ones but I went to the x vane in a 3 fletch and it took tons of speed off the 3 fletch was a LH helical it seems the bitsenberger jig can do a more radical left that right helical. You can turn the top to the left and use the left hand helical and they come out pretty aggressive.

I have tried the AAE hunter vanes they were hard to get to stick had to primer pen them use aae glue then it worked okay but still that killed my confidence in them. I do like the heat vanes they are about the same size as the vanes you used I wanted to use a 4 fletch but it was like 10fps different.
