Canibus was (and still is) so talented that he raised the bar up so high for everyone else and made it impossible to be as good. He had so many lines and insane verses that he raised the bar up high for any expectations about Canibus as a rapper as well. So he was a threat to the industry and no one knew how to control this beast who only wanted to rap and showed mad respect to everyone. So they blackballed him and locked him so he won't break out free and outshine everyone. Just read his lyrics, from battle rap freestyle bars and metaphors, to "Channel Zero" to "I Honor You" to "Master Thesis" to "Owl X A Cost A" to "Poet Laureatte II"... His multidimensional talent that has real meaning and a real message is way ahead of its time. Only bad thing is that half of his beats are wack, the other half are dope as hell though.

"The Canibus is an animal".. One of The best to do it. Much respect to this brother. I always felt like he was a victim of poor timing-- Not his fault. When his album came out in the late 90s, quality hip hop was being pushed out the mainstream. Think abour it, B.IG had passed in 97, radio rap was becoming flashy and basic. Canibus was a golden era caliber mc! He belonged in that category with Nas and Wu, like 93-94. Its unfortunate that his debut album didnt come out in the early 90s instead of late 90s.

@@Dontdoit_ every artist u named was mainstream friendly. So u literally proved my point... Eminems marketability was whiteness; 50 was gangsterisms; dmx was initially marketed as " the second coming of 2pac;" and cassidy was co-signed by swizz beats which helped elevate cassidy... Canibus was Different from every artist u named! He had an early 90s vibe AND his lyricism was too complex for ordinary/106&park type listeners. If canibus came out in 93, he wouldve had 3 whole years,(93 to 96), to cement his name and he ***wouldve*** had widespread acclaim like nas and the wu. Instead, only rap purists give Canibus the credit he deserves. He doesnt get mass cultural recognition like Nas et al, but he Should tho

The Freeway clips started dropping after the Canibus clips but the whole Free episode dropped already and we still giving bite sized portions of the Bis interview. I'm not mad but I'm mad. I see the numbers, 250 thousand in 4 days for one Bis clip, 160k for another Bis clip in 6. There's Lil Cease and French Montana clips from a month ago, Troy Ave and Styles P clips from months ago that just now getting to the numbers Canibus did in a few days just niwt. I see what's happening here. I'm not mad, I just want the whole episode so I'm mad... But I'm not mad, I know it's on the way, I'm just ready to hit play and let this human archive talk for 2 hours straight. I'm ready for the whole Bis EP cause it's hard to ignore these clips.
