Thanks for sharing these lessons. A person can have an excellent teacher and still not get it. Sometimes we just need a different person teaching with a different way of explaining that makes sense in our brain. I love the internet.

30 years after school with a 6 year degree, only for temperature scale to make sense now. Excellent!😂

Excellent video. The best explanation I have seen anywhere, including my old text books about Celsius Fahrenheit conversion.

I am an engineer by profession, but I am a science fan and it is difficult for me to find information or a guide on where I can study and your videos have helped me a lot. you have democratized knowledge. Greetings from Chile and thank you very much.

so, a theory, matter and time are connected, 0 kelvin is the point where time and matter are no longer bound to each other, it's as if you separate time from matter, so the question, is there a planet that is so cold that is below the degree: -273.15 Celcius which equals to 0Kelvin, must be the same thing, and if we could get to that planet, make some experiment somehow in order to determine the specicifics of that much cold, we could then stop time. so if something stops motioning, hence is off the limits of time, no aging, no going further in time, what do you think about this so far Jason? does this make any sense to you?
@aram5642 Жыл бұрын
Interesting, in the light of all of that, how Kelvin (or anyone) was even able to come up with such a precise floating point value mapping (273.15) while at the same time not being able to reach the 0 point in practice. The 'temperature' of light/color, for that matter, is usually a coarse number like 6500K... Kind of leaves me pondering.

K = C° + 273.15 Of scale

I'm so excited to continue these chemistry lessons & learning from you that I downloaded Vol. 1 & 2 from your website. Is there anyway to get downloaded lessons of these more current videos you've made in the blue shirt? Some of lessons are the same Volume, Unit, and Section number, but the content is different than what I've been learning here. (for instance Course 1 Unit 1 Sect 2 on here is "States of Matter", but in the website download Course 1 Unit 1 Sect 2 is "Units & Unit Conversions" ) Thanks!

The last question I think 107.6 rounded up would be 108 not 110
@ursulagwozdz19552 жыл бұрын
It is 110.
@jareddo06 Жыл бұрын
@sapphireisazoaakgaeMost likely just personal preference? 110 is a nice round number, but would pose some inaccuracies (around 1.5555°C). Sig figs would tell you where you *should* round your number.

Fahrenheit scale tied, originally, tied to to body temp (at 100 degrees F)? . Not exactly came from nowhere.

What is with the 0.15 please.
@jjsmallpiece92342 жыл бұрын
Because the conversion to Kelvin is 273.15 not 273. Using 273 would introduce in accuracies into the conversion calculation.

Why do they say 9/5ths? 9/5ths = 1.8 C*1.8+32 is easier to do in your head. Why do they teach 9/5ths?
@jareddo06 Жыл бұрын
9/5 is a very easy number to memorize. Also, when you're converting from Fahrenheit to Celsius, you're going to use .5555555555++ which takes away so many sig figs, while 5/9 doesn't. Memorizing the fraction form is just more efficient(?), to say the least.
