I love the last tip on 100's complements where you add enough to the first digit to make it a 9, and the 2nd digit to make it a 10. That instantly sped up my mental math so much! I've always tried to do the standard add and carry in my head, which is so much slower.

This just answers what I've been looking for! I know there's a method out there. I even tried to come up with a method of my own in order to help me calculate quickly in my head but it turns out to be cumbersome. lol So, thanks so much for these tips.

Numbers like 60 and 40 could be explained better as 0+10 is 10 and 6+3 is 9,but you carry the 1 from your 10 so the 3 becomes a 4... or 3 tens and 10 ones. Respectively 5 tens and 10 ones for 40's compliment.
