Solving 1-Step Equations w/ Multiplication & Division - [6-6-16]

In this lesson, you will how to solve an equation the requires a single step that involves multiplication or division. In order to solve an equation, we must isolate the variable on one side of the equal sign. To do this, we remove terms from one side of the equation by performing the opposite operation. If multiplication is occurring, we apply division to both sides to undo it, and vice versa. We will practice 1-step equations by solving many example problems.

Jason, one comment to possibly help motivate young learners -- you started with an overly simply example of 2 x g (i.e., golf balls), which is OK for teaching, I guess, but if you perhaps prefaced that type of example with a more "real world" example that the students might actually relate to as useful in their lives (perhaps not a hairy NASA equation that you worked with! ;), they might pay more attention and the lesson might "stick" better? I think it would have for me the first time I saw this material back in the stone age (I now watch as a review because my granddaughter might have a question that you've covered in a way that would help me better answer her).
