Glad to see u playing god of war actually God of War Ascension is the prequel to this game and even though there are people who dislike it I would definitely recommend playing it Especially for lore what happened before god of war 1 also I found the whole game amazing some of the best boss fights. I was 9 in 2005. My mom wouldn't let me play it (no M-rated shit for me lmao) but I was allowed to watch my stepdad play it. I remember him being shook by how ahead of its time it felt to him. He's been gaming since the 80s and he said this was up there with Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time in terms of feeling like the future of gaming for him. I've since played through the entire series (except Ragnarok, I finally got a PS5 last year to complement my PC and I'm slowly working through the catalog of first party shit) and there really aren't any misses across the board. GoW 2, GoW 3, and GoW 2018 are especially some of the best games I've ever played. You're in for a ton of fun dude!

Gow is simply one of the best games ps2 had to offer. The first one is pretty good but lacks some boss fights. Gow2 on the other hand had it all ! Not to mention gow3 that is a true masterpiece !

GoW 1 may be lacking bosses, but Pandora's Temple is one of the greatest levels/dungeons/what-have-you in all of video gaming.

Hell yeah, dude! God of War is my favorite video game series of all time! (Tied with Zelda) Also, good to see you caught onto, "Break everything" 'cause you absolutely want allllll those orbs! This game blew my mind when it came out. Combat was insane with all the different enemies and finishers! And I was convinced video game cutscenes couldn't get any better than these. Then GoW 3 blew my mind all over again.

Regarding the voice actors. For the first handful God of War games , Kratos was played by TC Carson . I believe Christopher Judge took over on the 2018 God of War

Very happy that you have decided to start the saga from its origins and not watching bad and partial summaries of the story on youTube to go directly to the new games. The original trilogy has NOT aged AT ALL. They are still very accessible games. In fact, I think the new games are going to get old faster than the original trilogy. But that's my personal opinion.

What I always loved about God of War 1 is how this twist happens at 37:47, you listen to the cutscene but you mostly concentrate on Kratos and think her saying his past will be forgiven is just a fancy way of saying his nightmares will stop but the end of the game reveals how she screved him over but also didn't since she did the very thing she promised, only Kratos and the player didn't understand her

I was 13 when this came out. I was OBSESSED. I have posters on my walls of Kratos to this day. GoW 3 was my first ever platinum. It was a teenagers fantasy for it's time. So glad to see you playing this!

Kratos is THE best written character in all of video games, in my opinion. You're doing yourself a huge favor by playing the original trilogy. Besides being great game in their own right (particularly 2 and 3), you get to see the full scope of Kratos' journey. It makes all the payoff and callbacks in the new duology (particularly 2018) hit SO much harder. Bro you WILL be yelling, jumping out of your chair, covered in goosebumps and crying by the end of the journey. I guarantee it!

So hype for this series! The first few GOW games were my childhood, but sadly I do not have the console etc to reply them. I will re-live the experience through you! Cheers bud. In 2005 I was 15 and a game like this for a 15 year old was life changing. For me it was a more mature Zelda-esque RPG that I had never ever seen before. And apart from Mortal Kombat, I hadn't really played games with this level of cool violence.

Glad to see the beginning of a legacy run through this franchise! It's one of the greats for so many reasons! I still have the Hydra Battle Demo Disc from before the first game released. My father bought a magazine that had the disc inside and once we both beat it repeatedly, he went out to buy the real game for us to continue the story. Great bonding experience!
