I'll never forget seeing the movie for the first time with my older brother. I had never even seen the trailer, but we would go out to the movies on something he often chose. It was really something else when you had no clue about the movie or where it was going or even seen scenes from it ahead of time. It blew my mind even more. Then when we walked out of the theater and looked around and was like... could it be? ;) Great movie. I wish I could relive that first time... without knowing about it. It also has a special memory for me now as my big brother died a few years back. I miss seeing movies with him.

*Funny thing is, this trailer doesn't even do the movie or storyline any justice to it's mind-blowing masterpiece!* *So the day this movie got released, the other movie that my high school gf & i wanted to see was sold out (back then they'd oversell tickets because they didn't track seats by computers like they do today). So once we couldn't find a seat in our theater, we walked out and decided to go into another theater room to watch another movie that had previews playing so we wouldn't miss the beginning. We walked into the room with the movie posted 'The Matrix' hanging beside the doors and walked in, saw previews playing and found 2 seats in the middle of the room. We had no idea what this movie was about, or what we were about to experience.* *Our minds were FUCKING BLOWN-AWAY! I verbally said out loud in a whisper tone "WTF!?! W.T.F.!" When the concepts of how humans were being used to harvest energy for the AI machines and we were living in the Matrix. It was a sci-fi theory concept that actually 'worked' and didn't seem far-fetched cause if you think about it, this can be done irl hundreds of years in our future! Not to mention all the fascinating concepts & theories laced within the script's dialog just blew me away!* *The last scene where neo learned to read the matrix and control the coding to bend to his will, jumping into Agent Smith and recoding/corrupting him in an attempt to destroy him, then the final scene where technically if he can recode the matrix, he could technically fly too. This had myself, my gf, and 100 people slowly walk out of the theater slowly shuffling our feet like zombies as everyone was trying to piece together and absorb all the concepts in this movie so we could make full sense of it all, and recover our brains for what we just experienced. Out of 100 people in that crowd walking out the exit not one person said a fucking word because we were all in our own thoughts. Fucking. INCREDIBLE experience!* *Today, the Matrix is such a smash hit, it became a 'Hollywood production/meme' in society. But at the time of release, it was a science fiction next-gen MASTERPIECE! To this day, i can't even remember the name of the movie we originally came to see...lol*

It is very clever how the directors of this movie managed to make this movie interesting to watch for people who do not care or do not understand the depth of the movie but still make them watch it (because of the special effects) and make the people who actually care about the depth of the movie and whom like to imagine how our brains could work if we were the ones in that particular situation to watch the movie. Something that two different target audience can watch. Without one criticising about the other. Some individuals prefer to reflect deeper and imagine how other people are passing through the world in their own subconscious mind.

I remember watching the Matrix for the first time with absolutely zero idea of what I was going to watch. All I knew is that it was an action movie with lots of guns and explosions. To have my mind completely blown once they revealed what the Matrix actually was is one of the great movie experiences.

They really nailed the atmosphere of this film with the green camera filter on all the scenes within the matrix. It gave those scenes a kind of artificial feeling in my opinion. I remember being around 11 when I first saw this film and the whole idea of our basic senses being so limited and the possibility of us living in an artificial world that made for us completely blew me away. I think this film did the same for many other people and it helps that it holds up so well even to this day.

The Matrix achieved what so many movies fail to, It created an atmosphere. The way it was filmed, the green and black hue on the screen, the outfits, the language and speech, the agents, especially smith were also very well done. The casting was superb as well, each character was different and nuanced and each left an impression on you. The 2nd and 3rd one’s got a little crazy, but the first will be remembered fondly forever.

It was a sci-fi theory concept that actually 'worked' and didn't seem far-fetched cause if you think about it, this can be done irl hundreds of years in our future! Not to mention all the fascinating concepts & theories laced within the script's dialog just blew me away!* *The last scene where neo learned to read the matrix and control the coding to bend to his will, jumping into Agent Smith and recoding/corrupting him in an attempt to destroy him, then the final scene where technically if he can recode the matrix, he could technically fly too. This had myself, my gf, and 100 people slowly walk out of the theater slowly shuffling our feet like zombies as everyone was trying to piece together and absorb all the concepts in this movie so we could make full sense of it all, and recover our brains for what we just experienced. Out of 100 people in that crowd walking out the exit not one person said a fucking word because we were all in our own thoughts. Fucking. INCREDIBLE experience!* *Today, the Matrix is such a smash hit, it became a 'Hollywood production/meme' in society. But at the time of release, it was a science fiction next-gen MASTERPIECE! To this day, i can't even remember the name of the movie we originally came to see...lol*

Seeing this after all these years, and having watched dozens of movies since 1999, i never doubt that The Matrix is the best movie of all time. The Matrix is all around us , here in the 'real' world. It starts when you wake up in the morning, and ends when you go to sleep. Only to start again the next day. The cycle continues, for a lifetime, or as many lifetimes as it takes, until the day we wake up, never to sleep again.

Sad to say that this was a true story. Much like They Live was a true story. It took me years to understand it, it started with a friend saying exactly what i just said. Why did it take years? Because i had to research, lament, withdraw, go back and research some more, lament... getting the picture here? WHY didn't i take the blue pill? I ask myself that question all the time, but there is no going back... there is only the machine, and some day we, the unplugged will have to fight it.

I love how this trailer doesn't do the movie justice. This is the greatest movie of all time imo, I love this so much. I remember watching it when it came out, I was only 9 years old, my grandfather who's really cool had it on video and he watched it with me. So interesting, so evocative, great music, great fights, seriousness, funny moments, genius. I get the strange feeling that Jupiter Ascending is going to be like this, the trailer will be nothing compared to the epicness that's gonna go down.

I've watched it probably 10 times. I bought it when I was 15 and watched it five times in one week. Then again with my bros when I was high (damn, that was crazy!) Then I bought it on blue ray three years ago. Since then I watched it 4 times. Still remember the making of on free tv. I was 7 years old. My parents weren't at home. I really couldn't believe my eyes... Best memories!
