Everybody who tries to bully in BASKETBALL gets judged lol. It’s not the same as Hockey where you can knuckle up. Basketball players are the genetic jackpots when it comes to athletic potential. In school, basketball players usually get the best women, get the most love from the audience, and probably have the best return on investment work and talent wise… Long story short, nobody cheers for Goliath, and nobody wants to hear the complaints or someone doing better than them🤣 Compound that with being a bully in a “softer iteration of the league” and you get the negative blowback of being a Patrick Beverly, a Morris Brother, or a Matt Barnes Each are probably great guys, but Playing the Heel means taking what comes with it

I heard a story about Matt Barnes once when the NBA was on lockout back in 2011. Apparently he played a few pickup games at Kezar Stadium in SF. If you remember other players were playing in the Drew league while others played Internationally to keep their skills up. A player on the court was heckling Matt Barnes during one of these pick up games. When the refs weren't looking Barnes laid an elbow on the fool so hard he went to the ground and had to come out the game. Matt Barnes ain't no joke.

Matt Barnes always keeps it real. Great for people to see where he came from and how thoughtfully he speaks. If everyone that dislikes him for his play on the court saw this video, I'm sure a great deal would change their minds about him. Happy to see that he's having success after his playing career ended. I saw him once at a hotel pool with his young family when I was with mine. He wasn't well known at that point but I knew him at a glance because I followed UCLA basketball. We lost to Missouri in the NCAA tournament because the UCLA coach took Barnes out and they went on a run. Always wished him the best.

I really did not know Matt at all. I just knew he was tough and could play the game. He also could be an asshole at times. But now that I have seen where he comes from, I have a new found respect for him. He came from the gutter and made it out! He really went through Hell. God bless him. He knows the black plight better than many who claim to have had it hard.

So much is about the South East coast, since slavery, up until Civil rights, you never really hear about what was going on, on the West Coast of America. I think the whole state of Oregon banned Blacks from living there. The history of Black people in America, the good, the bad and the ugly is still being made. Big ups to Mr. Barnes!

The Klan has always been in Orange County. In the 70's they used to call Anaheim klanaheim. There was in uproar a few years back about some school or something being named after a guy who was in the Klan. I forget the city but it was in Orange County.

Who's lying dopey? It's not a real stat. It's a meaningless youtube comment about Barnes' story not being all that different from many other NBA players. Didn't realize that the stat police were going to take an off-the-cuff post literally.

There was something I always liked about Matt Barnes and the presentation is a confirmation why I like him because he's been there on the other side of the track so to speak and I particularly loved him sticking up for his sister and fighting because I had to kick a few butts over my sister when we were growing up and he definitely knows the street side of life. I hope Matt and his family are alright because losing your mother leaves a huge empty space that I do not believe will ever completely go away.

There are plenty of basketball players that were probably better football players than basketball. Remember Charlie Ward who won the Heisman but chose to play in the NBA? Thank god that Tony Gonzalez chose football instead of basketball. Then you have names like Nate Robinson, Matt Harpring and JR Smith who probably would have made better NFL players than NBA.

Reginald Dorsey he was a beast WR if he had chosen football his career would've been over 5 or 6 years ago tho. In his teens he got by at hoop on his size athletic ability and how hard he played. It took him 4yrs at ucla and a few more after to refine his skills on the court and contribute.
