"I'm fixin' to hurt myself"...Hahah!! "Fixin' to..." When I was a little girl, a family moved in across the street and they were from Ohio (I'm in TN). When the lady asked me how old I was, I replied, "I'm fixin' to be nine!" She had never heard anyone talk like that! She laughed about that for years. I had no idea that other people might find those words strange. What a delicious supper!

I agree about your feast! I do like fried green tomatoes! And always cornbread! We don’t have a hunter in the family. I’ve not had a lot of Venison. When I got as growing up we had a neighbor that did have Venison. But she always cooked it rare. I don’t like rare meat.

Now this reminds me of supper that my mother and grandmother used to make god rest their souls. The only thing different would be gravy and beans . Thank you for these moments in your life they resemble so many of the things that so many of us were raised on . Cornbread or biscuits and gravy were always on the table as were beans ,and some sort of potatoes. ❤️

I love listening to you and Matt❣️ It feels like listening to my family. We live in central, rural Oklahoma, but we sound a lot alike, when it comes to a southern accent. My parents, both, grew up in rural areas, so many of your words and phrases are familiar to me. My granny used the word Cattywampus all the time. 😅 My maternal grandmother lived in SE rural Oklahoma and raised gardens and canned everything. So, when you talk, garden, can etc. it feels like I’m visiting with family.💞 Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. It feels like home.🥰

Love me some fried green tomatoes. I cut mine into squares and then dribble a tiny bit of buttermilk over them, toss em around. Add white lily cornmeal mix and a tiny bit of self-rising flour. Toss to make sure they are dry. Fry in a deep cast iron dutch oven til golden brown. They are so delicious and do not absorb so much grease.

That sure is a yummy looking supper! My daughter is the fried green tomato eater in our family. She absolutely loves them. Matt is so funny after he makes his plate and says that he’s fixing to hurt his self. I know this will probably make me sound crazy to y’all but, I have had deer meat every which way you can make it and it still just taste too wild to me so, I don’t eat it but my husband and kids like it. If Matt needs a snack tonight, he will be up getting him some of those fried green tomatoes if him and Austin don’t finish them off first. Hope y’all have a great rest of the week. Hugs from the southeast coast of Florida.😎🦩🌞🦩😎
