Matt Goodwin criticises UK free speech crackdown amidst riots

Author and Professor of Politics Matt Goodwin has weighed in on the UK government's response to the riots sweeping across the country.
This comes as tension remains high after disorder was sparked across the UK in the wake of the murder of three girls in Southport which sparked violent disorder in the town.
“This is very serious, and I'm deeply concerned about what is about to happen in this country," Mr Goodwin said.
“I think what's what we've seen over the last week is the new Labour government only a month old respond to the riots and protests by essentially saying this is all far right.
“We're going to see social media regulations being tightened. We've had remarkably police today saying that they would look for extraditing people. Who are making comments on social media that are inappropriate or deemed to be legal but harmful."

You need to look a little more deeply into German politics in the 1930s. In November, 1932, the nazi party won 33.1% of the vote. Even after a campaign of violence, by March 1933, immediately after the Reichstag fire, it had only increased to 43.9%. There was opposition, which was systematically crushed by the German police, and by 'Peoples' Courts, set up in 1934 to try those accused of “crimes against the state”. Many pub meals are excellent, and if you would rather drink orange juice or water, that is fine, you can do that. In a democracy there is no such thing as hate speech. In a democracy, you have the right to criticize everyone, and all groups, and express your opinions. The only thing you don't have the right to say in a democracy are words and sentences where you threaten others with violence. The reason is that all criticism would then be perceived as hate speech, like when someone once criticized Hitler or Stalin, where they were then arrested for expressing their opinions. A country that does that is not a democracy, no matter how often and how many elections they hold..!
