The first season was so much fun. After that it became very grim and lost its sense of humor. I thought that was a big mistake. I still rewatch all of it about once a year though. Lee Horsley and Pam Hensley were great together.

I agree with you. Season one really established the show and the main characters. It was sort of like a comedic "aw shucks" version of Magnum, p.i. They should have stuck with that instead of going the dark route for the last two seasons. It might have lasted longer.
