I watched this classic movie with my father in the 80s. It was a good time. I lost Papa last year and I miss him so much. I love you Papa. Thank you for everything.

I saw it with my mother. Sorry for the loss of your father. My father and mother are also gone. This movie is so sad for me. That end, can't stand it. I am crying just because of this video. A hug for you at distance.❤
I saw this movie decades ago. Put me to tears, crying like a flowing river. I was hoping for a happy ending but it never happened. Nothing like the old movies and this one is ageless.

I.m 74, I sing this song often!! I love this song!!
What's the hell of 1950,the foreigners who came from state or Euro country searching for the secret of Oriential love style, for example their family members didn't agreed that their daughter got marriage and falling in love with foreigners 🥺Beloved and believe that all we need is true love Babe🤍
This song, this composer, this singer, these actors embody what no longer exists: true love in the most beautiful, romantic and graceful manner. Since the 1960s the world lost its sense of elegance and class, never to be captured again.

I seen this when I was 15 yrs., old. I fell in love with this movie. Heartbreaking what the two had to go through. I cried when William Holden died when they were bombed. It left Jennifer Jones crying, especially their favorite place to go, by the tree. She had to go there to bid her final farewell. Heartbreaking. This movie has a,ways been my favorite. Especially Andy Eilliams singing this song.
Some people commenting about how special this time was and 'all gone now' but it really lives on through us and if we can allow our children to be introduced to these wonderful movies and wonderful songs, it will live on through them....maybe forever.

Probably because he was discovered rather late and died relatively young (50s). Compare this to Sinatra who was already a movie star in his twenties and lived to a ripe old age, allowing his career to take root and develop over a long time. Timing is everything.

@@helenaville5939o be a massive star then you had to be massive in the USA. Matt went there and was big but he didn't stay. It was his own decision to return home where he continued to be big in a smaller pond. Sadly good popular music of the time was commercially overtaken by R and R and he like others eventually had to perform in smaller venues
