Matt should be a household name. When you go to a Houndmouth show we (the fans) are louder than them sometimes when we're singing along. Beautiful Strat, but love his sparkle yellow one.

The first two albums have some killer guitar tones. I saw Houndmouth in St. Paul a few years ago. Saw the Silvertone and thought he had a Fender Twin as well. Sounded awesome. Cool video.

Nothing beats an older Fender amp in my opinion. That reverb and tone if just what it's all about with the sound we truly love. I understand the simplicity, but that's what roadies are for.

gdawgs101 my main amp is the Evil Robot Phil X C30 (boutique amp clone of the Magnatone), so I already have the tube part taken care of. I wonder how the Helix would work with it vs. the Kemper.

I want one but the twin reverb and bassman settings on my $100 Fender Mustang 1 amp sound so good and it performs perfectly with a band with the volume at 5. Why would I spend the money? My vintage Fender amps and reverb unit still sound great and look cool stacked in my house but that’s all they do now. I’ll never get rid of them though. Use what works best for you.

Totally disagree about les Paul’s being easier to play than a strat.. its actually a commonly held belief the other way around

To each their own. On my strat I feel like I have to put in way more effort to do anything. With a longer scale you have to bend harder, that's just physics.

I learned on a les Paul imho they’re easier to play because I’m used to it. Playing a modern strat with a thin neck made me feel like I was playing a bass

Because they're impractical, unreliable, inconsistent, expensive, and OVERRATED. I grew up playing digital like everyone else who isn't pushing 50. I've played plenty of tube amps at guitar stores, they feel and sound pretty much the same as a good digital solution, weigh a ton, cost a million bucks, and piss off the neighbors and sound guys. And it's all gonna wind up going through an SM57 anyway so who cares? Not to mention you can do things with a Kemper that literally defy the laws of physics if you try to do them with tubes, so you have vastly more tonal possibilities. The difference is all old dude nostalgia and placebo effect.

@@slash196 Speaking as an older guy 54. I can't wait for the next generation of Kempers and if you have ever carried a mesa boogie mark III up a flight of stairs you will know why. As for tube amps being over rated. Do not forget that the Kemper profiles you are using were taken from the very tube amps you are dissing!
