On behalf of Husker Nation, I congratulate Purdue for an INCREDIBLE season and commend this team for the high bar it set for greatness within our conference and the country at large. The only fair way to "evaluate" coaches is to switch rosters and see how the "Blueblood" coaches would do with the same kids. Coach Painter recruits players who fit Purdue University - NOT Kansas, Kentucky, Carolina, etc. Coach Painter does the best with the hand he's dealt - and his peers see it and more than acknowledge his coaching abilities.

How did you not make adjustments in the 2nd half? Its almost like you gave up. Two 3pt attempts in the 2nd half from a team that shoots 40%. That press you put on was ridiculous lol. Out coached and out played on every level.

Not out coached, but outplayed. Like Hurley has said, their key to success is bring in NBA level players who play well together and might stick around 1 or 2 years. They were just too big, too athletic, and too talented. They had to choose between slowing down Edey or stopping our shooters. They chose the latter, and it worked well. We tried getting a couple shots but were either blocked or contested. Painter did a great job, everyone did their best, but UConn was too good. Possibly the best college team to come around in a generation. I’ll take our guys and our philosophy any day of the week against the money-machine win at all cost leviathan that is UConn.

This coach did nothing but ride Edey to the title. There’s nothing elite about him. If Edey went to UCONN he’d be a better all around player, same with everyone else on the roster. Painter didn’t prepare his players enough for the moment. He didn’t make halftime or in game adjustments. He’s sub par and the program will never win a title with him as their head coach.

You're exactly right. Edey carried him. He has no idea how to even utilize Edey Edey should have had 7-8 blocks. Painter a 2nd tier coach. 2:58

Edey wasn't on Uconn's radar, and would not have been recruited. Except Colvin NONE of the Purdue players were Uconn caliber. That makes your comment incorrect at a fundamental level.
