The players they are bringing in have the DAWG mentality. That's something that the players he replaced didn't have. I've watched videos and interviews with those former players and they just did not seem passionate nor fired up. The guys coming in are totally different. JUCO guys are hungry and they will do whatever to get on the field. They will push everyone around them just to play. Prime is building a culture of hard work, hustle, and want to. He's bringing in talent and energy. Sometimes, that's all you need. They are also getting players that fit their style which means they will get acclimated much faster. Trust the process.

Just check the boxes QB Shedeur Sanders RB Dylan Edwards and Smoke WR Jimmy Horn Jr , Omarion Miller, Travis Hunter… and maybe Montana is coming back? TE and OL are still suspect but they did get a few guys out of the portal to help out And the Defense is looking better with the portal help they are getting.

Yo Matt, I have been listening to your channel for a while now and have enjoyed it. One comment I’d like to make about the language that you and some other listeners have used while talking about Colorado. It sounds like that you are calling all of the guys who hit the transfer portal bums and losers. (You say you got to get rid of the bums and losers.) I played four sports in high school, and there were always some players better than me and there were always some players that were not as talented as me. Same principle that is present on the Collegiate front. My point is just because these guys are hitting the transfer portal, it doesn’t make them. Individual bums or losers. It very well could mean they see the handwriting on the wall and realize they will not get the chance to play at Colorado but maybe they can have a chance to play at a different college. I like Coach Prime but remember it was Coach Prime who said I’m bringing the players with me. And yes, I do know there are always guys who won’t pay the price to realize their full potential. They got rid of the mid level talent and now currently got nothing but 5 star 4 star and 3 star guys on the roster from top to bottom. So yea the coaching staff definitely has their work cut out. That being said Coach Kelley had groomed and polished the best defensive talent since he was at FSU (Jalen Ramsey) and not to mention all the defensive guys that have gone to the NFL the past 3 years at Alabama. And they got Coach sal and coach Williams as the D-line coaches. Go do your research on how many guys they helped develop. On the offensive side I have full confidence in coach Lewis and the other coaches they will get the job done.

People don’t need to be unrealistic. If Colorado wins 5 it will be an improvement, success and headed in the right direction. With so many new players and only months to prepare it will be tough to win more than 5. Colorado has had a losing culture for over a decade. Last year 1-11. Winning at least 5 is a success. The players CU has signed are more talented than the players last year. Coach Prime only signed guys with certain character. As he puts it, Real Dawgs that are hungry. A lot of these players came from good programs and didn’t start but because of the talent depth at these schools the players may start on other teams that are not as successful. There are 13 players from the 1-11 team that did what was asked. They worked hard, competed and EARNED their spot. Also, they just resigned a player that jumped in the portal when Coach Prime first arrived.

Only time will tell on what will happen to Colorado. CU will definitely not be a title contender in the 1st 2-3 years, BUT I do feel that they will have a winning season. Waaaay too much coaching talent (from head coach/assistant/position to the athletic/training staff) for it to not happen. You got a bunch of transfers and HS recruits jumping in mostly because of a charismatic celebrity. Think about that. The portal is a double edge sword. Many kids are jumping ship because they couldn't break the 2-deep. Those are questionable players. Some are legit prospects who landed initially at the wrong place. Building fast via the portal is very risky business. It's too much development and culture building to do fast. In just one season. I suppose CU can drum up NIL since they are essentially the Denver metro area. But it's a pro (Broncos) town. Their facilities are lacking. I predict that CU will improve to 3 wins. They'll lose to TCU, Nebraska, and rival CO. State...0-3 to start. (No, Nebraska is not your rival, CU) Then followed by Oregon and USC...0-5. As they improve through the season, they'll pick up a few wins, perhaps Wa. State, Or. State. (home) Stanford's (home) nothing to shout about. 3 wins, and that won't be easy. Definitely no bowl game. Season two, we'll have to wait and see. That givers more time to develop. Coach Rhule at Nebraska is doing the rebuild in a much more mature way. He had more base talent to start with. You also have Wisconsin to watch, they are changing a moderately successful scheme to a more pass oriented scheme. That's risky. This will all be fun to watch.

Matt, love your video and I know football. 1. Coach Prime is recruiting guys that are SEC players and being an Alabama fan like myself, you know that there is a huge difference between PAC-12 and SEC play (65-7). The guys were not starters in the SEC, does not matter because they all have copied Nick Saban's (reload, not rebuild strategy). ASU cannot match talent with Colorado, and neither can Stanford, Nebraska, or TCU, yes TCU will get blown out by Colorado. No one in the PAC-12 has DBs that can match that speed to the outside. Next point, Colorado is running a 4-2-5 defense so Five Dbs are on the field at one time. That being said, this pass-happy conference will have to throw into tight windows, and with the edge rushers that he has picked up, the QB will not be able to stand and throw. Last point: The PAC-12 is known for having the weakest defenses in all of football and that is not a focus, it is a focus at the Colorado Seminoles. So, with all this being said, here are the teams that will give the most trouble UTAH/USC/ Oregon. That's it Colorado will make it to a bowl. They are not going to be undefeated, but they are going to win 80-90% of their games. Save this post for the season, Matt. You can't play all your games at home. Yes, I've seen it give them a 4th quarter advantage. But...TCU, Oregon, UCLA, Utah on the road. They have no altitude advantage over Co. State. USC is good enough to overcome that 4th quarter disadvantage. That's half your games without your big advantage. You won't win all of the other 6. Any team with a little bit of depth can overcome it. Nebraska used to almost every year. Dream on.
