A genuinely locally produced DCDC charger that does everything an overlander needs that works perfectly for lead acid & lithium batteries, WRND. It is simple, reliable & gets the job done at about halve the price. For your lithium charger question, make sure your charger is lithium friendly before connecting it up, in the long run might damage the lithium battery if the incorrect AC charger is being used. :)

Firstly - love your content. Point of interest - The same DCDC unit you are running on the old system is just fitted inside the panel box of the Green Box. If you had bought the NL Black Box and riveted the "old" DCDC to the lid or back, and connected to the battery, you would have saved yourself 7K. Keep making vids.

Great choice. Have one in my dads 80 series. I have tested it a few times and was very impressed. I have the old grey national luna box in my SFA hilux witch works fine, but not as efficient as the DC25 one. I also have a 105 cruiser and am planning to fit a victron energy dc-dc with mppt solar regulator to safe some space in the rear. Battery will be fitted in engine bay. Keep up die good work.

Here in the USA we have Harbor Freight…a store that sells a ton of Chines products cheap. Just because their cheap doesn’t mean they are junk. The generator “Gator” has been bullet proof. Harbor Freight sells a small 900 watt genny for 100$ USD that charges all the batteries I have effectively especially if you don’t have solar access say like on a very cloudy rainy day. I dig a hole about 2Feet deep 50+ feet from camp and set the generator in it. I put it down in the hole which greatly reduces the noise of its 2 stroke engine which by the way is pretty darn quiet. I love how much you appreciate and enjoy being self sufficient when out and about. I carry a genny and batteries, solar panels, and as well as an 1800 watt inverter every where I go. It’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.🤷♂️💯 Together they work as a team to keep me in constant power. Hope this helps you in some way. Thank you for the info bud. Nice setup!

Great video. I believe this is the best system. Just pricey... You still need to add a battery to it...

Part #15, I sure at the beginning of this series on the Hilux build there was going to be about 8 videos! Have you sorted out the fridge/freezer due to its failure on your trips?

I too want to know why the fridge failed on the West Coast.

the NL 5 charger only charges at about 5 or 10 amps, which in not enough to charge a lithium battery, also the NL5 trickle charges, which again, you dont trickle a lithium battery. i also use the NL 25 greenbox, nut dont use the charger function. you can connect a bigger charger through the input anderson plug to charge

based on national luna website, the following batteries are supported (also confirmed only charges at 5 amps) Charges & Maintains: Flooded (WET), MF, VRLA, AGM, GEL & Calcium and lead-acid batteries

Hello, I have a question regarding the NL DC25 which I have in my D-Max since one year: Is it normal that the voltage meter at the front of the system never ever shows more than 13,2 V even if I was driving 800 km or more? In the battery (LiFePo) manual it says, 90% state of charge is reached at 14,4 V, 40% SOC is at 12V. Is something wrong with my system

Way over priced for what it offers in all honesty. (The green National Luna battery box) But a perfect ' all in one ' solution for the average walk in client that just purchased stuff off the shelves at the shop. Just my opinion though.......
