Picked up the Mothca and It’s awesome! Definitely recommend it. If you want to minimize the probability of getting dust, just run the hot shower in your bathroom and install it there.

Matte is the way to go. So much better in every way Edit: I always go in the bathroom, close the door, run a hot shower for a few minutes which the moisture holds any dust down then put the screen protector on. Usually dust free

I've tried Mothka and other, some far more expensive, glass ones. The big problem which you ignore is how easily they crack! Slight knocks produce cracks, so as actual protectors they are absurd, as the iPhone glass is far tougher.

@@JerrySchulze Well, I’ve got a mothka on my iPhone 14pro-max which has small cracks at the top and right hand side, and a hairline crack across the bottom half of the screen. My previous two ‘screen savers’ both shattered when I dropped my iPhone from just above knee height the first time, and knocked it off a chair arm onto carpet the second time. All within about 8 months. Otherwise, I love the matte screen, which is why I find it so frustrating that knocks which wouldn’t harm the actual screen harm the ‘protector’. Out of interest, are any of those devices a Pro-Max? How have they been ‘tested’ - dropped? knocked? hit?

I still think that tempered glass screen protectors, at the very least, absorb some of the impact when dropped. Over time, and over several drops, you may have to go thru several screen protectors, whereas having none might eventually crack the phone’s screen.

@@MasterKoala777 No way would the minor drops i experienced crack or even scratch screens that are much stronger than the ‘protector’ glass. I seem to recall you use a case, too? I strongly suggest that’s why your protectors have survived better than mine. Also, to repeat, are you using an iPhone Pro or Pro Max? I only use the ‘protector’ for the matte finish which I love while loathing glossy and oily naked screen, so I’ll keep using them. Do you know if 14 Pro Max ones will fit 15 Pro Max? I have that matte screen protector rn and I can’t stand it. It’s cool it doesn’t show finger prints but the quality of the screen goes down when you have the matte on.

I really really don’t understand why people look for so very very minor things in screen protector’s they do not affect the screen resolution that bad that you literally would notice it immediately, I use a ZAGG privacy + anti glare (matte) screen protector and it’s by far the best if used plus you get a limited warranty so they literally replace them if there’s something wrong you can even upgrade or downgrade and only pay for shipping which is far better (it really is a case of if you crack it or find something wrong they will replace it for as long as you have the device)

Mothca anti glare temper glass is great how ever its too sensitive. It cracks with the lightest touch. Or if you lift it up without being careful

Caution: In 2024 MOTHCA seem to have different matte glass protectors. 1 smaller without borders; 1 with black border that covers almost the entire screen! If you buy via your phone, you might not spot the differences immediately. Thumbnails and descriptions look very similar. I got a 2-pack set with a camera protector for an iPhone 15. My experience: Mixed feelings, not optimal in size, quite large gap around the border, Applying with the helper frame is not fool proof because the smaller size of the glass leaves too much room for wrong placement. Do not align or shift it completely to the TOP marker. Dropping it loosly from above is better than the actual tutorial method. If there is dust (not air!) under your glass, it is almost impossible to lift it up without getting in trouble. (although I have plenty experience with different products and devices). Even without using the fingers or nails, you would slightly damage the border area. Which results in new un-sticky areas, which doesn't look good. So, better it fits at your first try! ;) In general I like matte screens a lot. the touch feeling and anti-fingerprint behavior is great. Downside: slightly blurry display and crystaline effect on light backgrounds. What I don't like: the free unprotected gap area. It collects dust and probably more dangerous particles. A case might reduce edge damage, but it looks too vulnerable to me. Maybe the other MOTHCA variant with the black border is a better choice!? What's your experience...

i bought 3 of those mothca matte screens first one cracked just getting air bubbles out when using the included tool bought the 2nd one and mothca them self sent me a free replacement

I just purchased the Mothca one and I'm kind of baffled at how poor the screen quality is. The amount of rainbow sparkles I have on mine literally makes the screen hard to look at and gave me a headache. The image quality is absolutely horrible.

I'm kind of getting used to it now but I'm wondering if it's because I haven't used a matte protector in a while that I'm just not remembering what they looked like, or I maybe got a bad product. Everything needs to be in dark mode, had to change my wallpaper cause anything with bright colors looks awful.

i just recently lost my iphone 13 (pickpocketed) that i bought with money from my first job almost 2 years back. i have always wanted the matt screen protector on my phone. i am kinda sad but also holding up hope be positive about of it getting found or returned.
