It took me 9 months of training, from mine being 8 weeks to start, to do a full groom. Takes a ton of time and patience, but even with my reactive old English sheepdog, it can be done. And a sheepdog is a 5hr full groom. 2 hour brush out, or an 7+ hr groom bath and blow.

Haters Gunna hate. I've been grooming 16years and I'm still learning heaps from you. I'm a similar groomer to you, no fancy scissor cuts with me, not that I can't I just choose not to. Once clients find out that sort of grooming takes three times longer and costs three times more, they soon agree. Thanks Dede. Keep doing what you're doing. I appreciate you all the way from Australia. P.S. Loving my dog up stands.

I love your videos - why do people complain? It's totally voluntary to watch you. I wanted to thank you for advising the salmon oil. My rescue Corgi-Shepherd acts like a much younger dog after two months of that nutritional boost. She will be 16 in February and was barely able to go on our twice daily walks. After a few weeks on the salmon oil I noticed her trotting and her tail is up again - not drooping. Thanks so much!!!

I have an 11 year old Pomeranian with extra thick hair and can be a handful to brush and comb. . I have learned so much watching your videos about how to take better care in brushing and combing and about making lines during my daily brushing. I am handicapped and not able to groom Foxy Lady anymore so I have her professionally groomed once a month so I will not have a matting problem and to keep her hair at a manageable length. I am hooked on watching your videos and am amazed at the care you take in putting the dogs comfort and safety first while still being aware of your safety. Thanks for taking the time to record and post for our viewing pleasure.

I couldnt believe all the hoopla about shaving down a double coated dog. He is double coated and because he's a mix breed, he looks basically like a mangy lion if we dont shave him down. He's much more comfortable too. So let those people have their opinion and go somewhere else. I will continue to watch, learn and enjoy

Before I adopted my my Giant schnoodles I watched all of your doodle grooms. I didn’t want to be one of those people that allowed my pups to be matted and miserable. I also thought I’d keep their hair long....I was so wrong. I keep their coats about an inch long to cut down on grooming time. I have a back injury that flares from time to time. More so now that I bathe them 1-2times per week. They are diggers and love water so you can imagine how dirty and tangled they can get. They’re brushed every other day to prevent matting. A mobile groomer also comes to my home 1/month. Expensive but it’s the best I can do because my male pup gets carsick. I’m interested in learning to cut their hair myself to cut cost($200 per month grooming). Thankfully they love being groomed. They mostly want to sleep while being brushed and bathed. The only problem is it puts more stress on my back to hold them up. I love your videos and I’m going to continue watching to learn different techniques. Any advice for beginners would be greatly appreciated. They are 30+lbs at 6months old, but expected to be 60-80lbs full grown.

Wow, he’s such a well mannered doggo! This may not seem like a big deal, but let me tell you, it makes all the difference when grooming an animal this size. I myself have a goldendoodle who is 68lbs, she’s a wild child that is nowhere this level of chill. I’ve chose her to groom her myself due to a few factors…. First, a dog of her size(large)/coat(long) costs an arm and a leg to groom (up there in the 200). Some of the groomers I’ve inquired with have been quick to mention the extra fees that come with grooming that may apply due to time consumption (fair) and behavior (the kicker). I’m so grateful for KZbin, since it’s been my go-to for grooming videos. One thing I must mention is the condition of his coat. I feel so bad for him, since he should be brushed daily. When I got my doodle, I knew she would be work, but trust me, I had no idea how much grooming it would take. Clearly his owners care for him since they’re paying to get him groomed, but this is not enough. Such a well-mannered dog like him deserves some love in between each grooming session. I hope my doodle gets to this level of chill one day so grooming would be a breeze.
