I'm in the classical ballet world, and direct an international fine arts academy institution. I have designated current ballet star Rainer Krenstetter as my legacy surrogate designate for when I retire. His humor and reactions are so close to your own on this review episode I totally was sold on you. I am really, really old, and Rainer is like a son to me. So to find that sharp wit, keen memory and the ability to assess situations (all among the qualities beyond Rainer's artistic prowess that made me select him as my legacy heir) in you is delightful. Now, I know you do trash-mock comedy and I'm sure I've given you a dozen or so things to mock, but go for it man. And, is there any way to find out what became of Memphis? You have me intrigued! LOL

Yeah. He deserves the criticism, but that was "normal" back then - especially for 18. There wasn't any internet and the only gay influences were Ellen and a couple of seasons of Will and Grace in which Will might have said something like that to Jack. I'm so happy things are better but there just aren't that many period 90s films and the ones that are out there aren't focusing on the gay experience. . . or they're focused on a more interesting and specific piece of it. The gay films I remember from back then are Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, My Best Friend's Wedding (in which the gay is just a supporting role but at least he's a positive role model), Philadelphia, and Paris is Burning. I'm sure there were more but they tended to be about AIDs, drag queens, or hookers (My Own Private Idaho) and not just like normal gay people having a relationship.
