He was on his limit sliding the back end twice. Second time he nearly lost it. As is often the case you need to be first into the finish. The race was for that position. Then it was so narrow with so little concrete road remaining a sprint wasn't really possible. Tactical then. But as you have shown, you are now a top contender to beat. Fantastic standard. Maintain it. Get stronger. Really well done especially starting 4th row - big disadvantage. Great result. Wonderful to watch!

We were both at our limit, I should indeed have taken the lead, but of course always easier said than done. I'm quite satisfied with my match and my level of form. Tomorrow I will ride a big UCI race in Niel, where the opposition will be much bigger and more international. Hope for a top 20 place there.

Very exciting race. Surprised that there were no barriers or dismounts to disrupt momentum. Start and finish straights are way too short. Essentially a sprint for the final pinch point - which is 200-300 m from finish line. Chapeau! Hut Ab!

Hallo Matteo, Ik heb gezien dat je niet meer met GRX di2 rijdt mijn vraag is daarom waarom ben je gewisseld naar een andere groepset?

Ik rij inderdaad met Dura Ace shifters, kon deze goedkoop op de kop tikken en ze wegen een stuk lichter. Heb het vooral voor het gewicht gedaan - het crankstel is van Rotor maar mijn derailleur is nog altijd GRX omdat daar een clutch op zit.

J'ai trouvé que c'était un très bon cours. Si j’y apportais des modifications, j’allongerais certainement la zone de départ et d’arrivée. De plus, je trouve dommage que les gens ne mettent jamais d'obstacles (poutres) pour sauter par-dessus
