Climbing is a therapy.. Any moment riding my bike is precious but those moments in the Dolomites and Alps are unforgettable - Campolongo, Falzarego, Valparola, Fedaia, Gardena, Giau, Monte Grappa, Pordoi, Sella, Telegraph, Galibier, Glandon, Croix de Fer, Chamrousse, Alpe d'Huez, the whole area around Grenoble (the balcony roads in Vercors, breathtaking; Chartrousse, fantastic.) etc.

What a great video!! As a heavier rider (178cm + 93kgs), I've started on the "weakness" technical descent and getting into an aero position. Flexibility in the hips is the key - if you can survive the gut strike - you'll get them on the flats and decent. 🚴

So one of the prerequisites of power testing is knowing what your sustainable max effort levels are at various time intervals. How does one go about finding that out? Is it simply trial and error? I'm a beginning cyclist and would love to have these data points as benchmarks, but it feels like I wouldn't have true numbers until a few months of training. Can I just ride to my HR or something?

I'd be really interested to know if a (track?) cyclist could beat a runner over a 100m sprint. Been looking at Usain Bolt's data. When he broke the world record his average speed, (from a "standing" start) was over 37km/hr. I wonder if a cyclist could beat him over that distance,
@michaelw71159 ай бұрын
The absolute best track sprinter would pass Bolt at around 90m according to calculations but I’m not sure cyclist reaction time was taken into account which if added would make it pretty much a dead heat.
