This is definitely a tried and true statement 'you don't even need to be a Christian per se to try to be good or try to do good'. Growing up from a non-Christian background..i was taught how to make it in this world to ultimately benefit myself or family..but in Jesus Christ, we can live victoriously and unselfishly

I used to really dislike the Gospel of Matthew because it seemed strict and impossible. I get it now and I’m relieved because I always wondered how I was supposed to be better than the Pharisees. There’s no way to achieve that level as a human being. We have to rely and believe in the Grace and forgiveness Jesus accomplished on the cross.

The Bible commands too give too the poor...it also says the poor are with you always....being greedy is a one way ticket to hell...give give give genorously and be blessed immeasurably
@tdog4240
@tdog4240 8 ай бұрын
The only one way ticket is unbelief. Yes, we should and if you are a believer with a relationship with Jesus Christ, you will want to do it, but that is not what sends people to Hell, because that would be works based.

What humans call ‘good’ is not by God’s standards. We convince ourselves the acts that we do are somehow good

There is a difference in giving through the church or yourself versus through the government. One is a personal hand up, the other become bribes via demands.

Thank you for all your lessons. I am just still finding it hard to understand all. You say that we should do good deeds because we want to please our Heavenly father. How can we do this without becomming legalistic? And the bible tells us that even our best efforts are filthy rags to Gud. I cant get my head around all this.

We serve God because we love Him - not for salvation. That is how we keep from becoming legalistic.

Matthew 6:6 Time with Jesus is private. :22 the light of the body is in the eye. Boy isn't that the truth. Have you ever met someone and looked into their eyes and it was soft and inviting and then you look at someone else's eyes and it's blocked off. This verse is deep❤ Is he doing Matthew 6 specifically 🤔
