This brought me to tears and completely broke and filled my heart knowing that God is so generous to give us his spirit in the times we are not strong enough to forgive. All we have to do is ask for God's help and willingly ask for his loving spirit to be breathed into our hearts. Nothing can be more incredible than that. Sermon on the Mount... So thankful!!! Jesus is Love. So greatful for your spirit Pastor Paul.

Last night, my son and I were praying before bed (the same prayer for a few nights as life has been chaotic) and he said.. "Mom, we should change up our prayer or else God is going to think it's like stale chips...he's not going to like it." lol.. and I thought, what a good reminder! not to pray in vain repetitions. I digress, this is so insightful.

Got so much out of this. Never knew exactly what was meant “for their many words.” Also loved the reference to Captain Kangaroo. What a trip down memory lane. I used to fake sick in jr. high to stay home and watch this show. Loved Mr. Moose and the rabbit wearing glasses. Yes, I did make it to college.😃

You have an unfathomable gift of speech. Watching this offers far beyond anything you can get from modern media. I’d would like to add some input if I may. I think people wanting to pray in the chapel is more for personal reasons rather than trying to stay right with the Lord. In a practical sense it’s a way to remove distractions from a time you dedicate to God, and to get your mind in the right place. In a spiritual sense it’s kinda like praying on your knees, a way to show absolute humility to God. “Father I’ve come here for you”. I feel this to be true in my heart but I’m not sure I’m expressing it right. Another thing on mindless repetition. At some points of my life I’ve become so distressed that I didn’t know how to pray. I didn’t know what to say and I was too distraught to think. So I repeated the Lord’s Prayer over and over again, and I don’t think this is necessarily wrong. I can’t remember the verse or the quote, but somewhere in the Bible it says something to the effect of “God hears the cries of those in dire distress”, meaning that the Lord hears the prayers of those too distressed to pray. To that end, reciting the Lord’s Prayer is like crying out for help. In a personal sense it also provides comfort as a reminder that no matter what happens, I am with the Lord and He will not allow me to be harmed. I definitely don’t disagree with what you’re saying. What’s written in Matthew 6 (?) is the best biblical texts on prayer. I just wanted to add some additional context. I also want to say that it’s very comforting to hear a man like you also struggling with consistent prayer. My prayer consistency is the single stumbling block on my spiritual journey. All other things can be forgiven, but how could it if you don’t talk to the Lord?

Around 44:50 P Paul address deliverance from the evil one and calls talking with the devil "charismatic weirdness" and that it has no foundation in the Bible. Just curious...is this different than casting out demons? When Jesus does this He seems demonstrates talking with the demonic unto deliverance. Any further insight on this?
@Steph_D_1st2 жыл бұрын
Praying is simply communication with God. Praying is maintaining the relationships with the source of all Powers -even the power to cast out devils. Casting out devils, deliverance etc are what they are but not praying. God values our relationship with him more than any power in the world. Praying is solely a God-thing! My 2cents

Just as you, Pastor Paul, cn meditatively pray thru The Lord's Prayer, one can do the same for other prayers, composed by great spiritual minds. That is not mutually exclusive from spontaneously offered prayers from the heart. While everything Scripture (for the most part pending human copy, punctuation, organization of chapters) is True; There are also true things that are not in Scripture. Too bad St Paul didn't have a projection screen and a printing press, eh?

Great sermon but I see nothing wrong with people coming to pray in the church premises. Some people are usually looking for a quiet and peaceful place to pray. Please let's not judge people or generalize issues. Let's teach proper theology like you usually do without over interpreting people's actions. Let people come and pray in church if that is what works for them.

I agree, in 7:14, he says is ok to pray in public too. God bless
