To run a 45 in a distance he hasn't done for a long time, his fitness was focussed on the shorter sprints, he is gonna do well if he focuses on 400

@@ThaSpeedsterZ it's still sprinting, it's not like he was doing 10 miles. Kerley went from 400m to 100m because when you are good at all sprinting distance, you can get in shape pretty quickly when you change your main distance.

hey runs with the same bounce as wayde van niekerk. Skies the limit for him. Super talented at the 1 and 2. But I'm excited to see him at the 4. He just doesn't have the explosiveness for the 1 and he is just born at the wrong time for the 2, bcos so many dudes are running 19.7's easily nowadays. I think he could do better at the 2, but i t think training for the 4 may help is 2. Either way. He is going to get paid to run track, which only a few people in the world are able to do. All the best Mat.

@@RK-um9tu I know exactly where 45.5 puts him. Did he even train to run an individual 4 this year? Probably not. And yes I am a fan!!!! And you must be a fan of me, seeing that you took time to comment back to me. So thank you sir. 😁

@@gary1703 He definitely trains for the 400m but 45.5 isn't really a competitive time if he gets better coaches then maybe he can work something out. I've honestly seen him regress through his years at Georgia.
@gary1703
@gary1703 Жыл бұрын
@@MegaTefta I totally agree with you. I don’t know if he is over training seeing that he wants to get that lucrative contract once he is done with college, but his improvements have been minimal throughout the years at Georgia. He has done well though at the 2. It’s super evident that he tightens up and presses way to much in the 1 but most definitely in the 2. From the eye test, I just don’t think he has the explosiveness and the quick twitch to win a medal at a major championship in the 1 and 2. And I know it’s a long shot, but I just think if he dedicated all his time to the 4. I just have a sneaky feeling from everything that I’ve seen that he can be successful there.

@@RK-um9tu He can only get better, I see a high 44 at the trials, if he gets below 44.5 he has a good shot to make the team! This is his last week of training, i do not think is enough, but next year will be is breakthrough year! This will also make him faster in the 200m, the focus on the 100m for 3 years hurt him in thE 200M AND 400M. I expect him to run the first 200m race qualify for the next round, run the 400m race and also make it to the next round. Depending on his times, he might scratch one of the races if they are on the same day or during a race window. A win for him is anything

If you relax for at least half the 3rd curb your finish is usually better. Smooth arms are what he needs. You can't accelerate for a full 400m without it. smooth, relaxed ARMS. @speedmatters2023
