I have seen this movie at least 100 times and still don’t get sick of it to this day. I never knew the story behind the iconic “alright alright alright”. Hearing the tale of how it came about just put the biggest smile on my face. And after listening to his Art of Livin’ virtual event today I can say with 100% certainty in my own mind that he truly understands the meaning of life.

The farewell to asshole coach on the 50 yard line was bittersweet poignant... H.S. football in Texas is akin to church. His character seemed lost with a dead end city job. Spending weekends with younger "cool kids" aimless.

That movie could have been a documentary of every high school in 1976! First time I saw it, I was putting names to the people in the movie that mirrored people that I knew for the era. Same time frame, same keg party, same cars, same everything. With one small difference. We didn't have any kind of fraternity or sorority so no hazing. But everything else made me incredibly nostalgic...
