The chemistry between the two was amazing on true detective.

True detective Season One was the best tv show I've ever watched. it drives intensely deep in your mind and let you see inside your locked room!

I wouldn't argue that at all. I just finally watched it within the past couple weeks, and I absolutely loved it! I loved that it treated Rust's outlook and philosophy with respect, when the average person would dismiss it the way Marty does. It treated it's characters with respect, and treated the audience with that same level of respect, knowing that if it was written to feel real, pulling no punches, the audience would come along. Just high quality all the way around, from the look, writing, to the acting. Can't ask for better storytelling.

I've watch the entire season 4 times, and some episodes even more. Still I can find nuances I haven't seen before. That's great art. When you can look at a painting or listen to song over and over and just discover new things each session. I agree, one of the best shows/films ever made, and I include cinema in that comparison.

I watched the first season about 10 times now, and Im STILL finding some new details. Rust Cohles character and his philosophy + the story and the whole season one is a timeless masterpiece.

I finally got my lazy ass around to watching season 1. Quite simply it’s television perfection! Woody and Matthew radiated off the screen with their performances, it was amazing to watch!

Amazing film......I'm 66 years old and had never heard of True Detective......Until I rented it at Red Box.....I hardly ever laugh out loud watching a movie but as macabre as this was the friction between the two was great! I cracked up at Woody's "Listen.....Don't say that weird s**t when you're out in public!" and "anything in those crime books that talk about jumping conclusions?"

What's funny is that this series felt like a long time coming, because for the longest time I always felt that they should play brothers or something.. If not on some wacky comedy, then something like this. Great that this came along for both of them.

No offense to Anthony Hopkins but thank god they picked Woody, the age difference would have been way off

The thing about the philosophy of young Matthew’s character Russ Cole is that, he’s right.

Just about to rewatch since 2014 . Lucky me . Watch it originally entirely in 4G - when America was asleep in the UK ( off peak no buffering ) . Waited 2 weeks to watch the last 2 episodes - scared the fuck out of me . Got WiFi now . 6 years is long and hard time in Chole world .

Quiet frankly Woody Harrelson did a better job acting, because he completely vanished behind the character. I could always see McConaughey in Cole.

@AiNEntertainment1014 жыл бұрын
...you got a good point there, Tuubster. But I'm sure you already know that it's just one perspective among many others. You can say the same about Denzel Washington and Will Smith - they're always a bit themselves, even in their best/deepest performances. I think if you have outstanding charisma, that can actually be a good thing, so I wouldn't criticize it. Technically though, I think you're right - Woody was acting the shit out of that character.
