Personally, I think ever since Spook N Jukes video exposing Matthew Santoro for his toxic behaviour. A lot of people have been rightfully turned off. Especially after Spook N Jukes second video with Matthew's response.

He also is so obviously faking nice and even almost making a mockery of it? I tuned in to two different streams last week of his to see if there was an improvement. I have been a fan of his for years and I WANT to see him do better. His anger was turned into sarcasm and states that he is "not allowed to make any commentary on DBD" and just comments on how everyone one is playing the game e.g. his teammates vs what he is doing wrong/right. It comes across as whiney and hostile. He may have not typed awful things into chat, but his toxicity is still seeping through his gritted teeth.

I’ve always found him a bit fake, he always played this humble character. 1 day I watched a live stream while he was still on KZbin and someone donated $100 he was like “omg thank you so so much you don’t have to do that I’m so appreciative… but next time if you want to donate go through this other site because KZbin takes a big chunk” like dude, leave it at the thank you. I thought you said money doesn’t bring happiness. Then some one else donated $5 and he had this look of disgust on his face and was like “oh cool” until someone donated $50 and we was all bubbly again. Any time someone would donate a “small amount” he would basically scoff. The dude is disgusting IMO

when he said the "I don't remember what he did but he was being toxic" bit, it so reminded me of the narcissist's prayer. note, I am not CALLING him a narcissist or armchair diagnosing him, but his full statement really reminded me of the 3rd to 6th lines of the prayer. it goes: 1 that didn't happen 2 and if it did, it wasn't that bad 3 and if it was, that's not a big deal 4 and if it is, that's not my fault 5 and if it was, I didn't mean it, 6 and if I did, you deserved it. he had to skip 1 bc there's proof, and he tried 2 earlier, but he really mashed up 4-6 all in one go. it's not a big deal and he didn't mean it bc it's just normal trolling, it's not his fault bc he's not mentally well, but also, the guy deserved it bc he was an ass, so he was just giving as good as he got. that's not taking ownership, and with the video evidence of the fight, whatever "toxic" actions he had is out there for all to see and judge for themselves (and also do not excuse his words and actions) but the balls it took to lie like that is very impressive. esp when he couldn't even come up with an excuse on the spot. literally just "I don't remember why but he deserved it" is just. amazing. the most lazy "you deserved it" I've ever heard.

As a gamer I have an issue with his comment that if someone is toxic to you in a game then you can be toxic back (and then he whined about it not being fair that he can't be). Honestly I think people should be better than that. Maybe it is "normal" for people to be toxic to each other. Maybe that's why when I'm gaming I'm often told that it's refreshing to see someone genuinely nice playing the game. As a Twitch streamer you know people are watching you game. You can't be upset when others criticize your bad behavior. It's up to your followers to decide if they want to follow someone who is toxic or not. If they criticize your toxicity and that bothers you, instead of whining about it change your behavior. As someone with followers it's up to him to decide what he wants to put out there and then he need to accept the result after the fact. If people stop watching you because you're toxic and you don't change your behavior, then that's on you. I used to like his videos (though, like many others, I lost interest after a while and stopped watching). It's just a shame because scripted Matt came across as a nice fun guy. Not that I ever watch Twitch, but seeing this makes me not want to follow him.

Yeah same, I absolutely LOVE "fun fact videos" and that's all I watched when I was a kid. I believe Matthew was actually the first YTbers I sub back in 2013 when he only had like 20 vids in his channel. I saw him as a shiny, bright, funny person providing interesting fact videos. There was a much more recent stream he did where he was semi going back to his antics, he did no gens, complained about how 1 gen left and 1 dead means game over and complained about his teammates not doing things faster as he did basically nothing, claimed instantly that he thought someone was hacking etc.

I don’t believe he’s changed- tbh it’s too quick to make a judgment because someone doesn’t 180 overnight like Matthew supposedly did. It just makes me think that, like his other stuff, it’s all extremely calculated and refined to ensure he’s viewed the way he wants to be, which is very easy on KZbin with editing etc but obviously he’s now taking a lot of precautions to ensure he doesn’t slip up on Twitch now- at least until this has ‘blown over’ and, if it does, watch him go back to how he was/create a way of doing it ‘that’s ok’/he thinks he can’t be called out on etc (ie passive aggression). Idk I never got good vibes from him and I still don’t. Imma trust my gut and not trust him. If he’s still ‘changed’ in 6 months then ok but for now it’s too soon to tell.

I used to be a fan of his content back in the day, then I just stopped. DBD seems to pull out some toxic people, but I would never have expected to see his face as one of them. I watched all the videos of Matthew and I was already a follower of him on twitch. But one day on his stream he was playing killer against a half decent team kept messing up and blaming it on them being a swf. Then at the end he types gg wp and then calls them cowards for not replying to him asking if there a swf and I so I asked him in chat why call them cowards and he banned me I have the screenshot of my last 5 messages and the request unban page for proof. It’s a shame thought he had changed.

He acknowledges what he did and at the same time he refuses to take accountability for what he did. "Yes, I did shitty things, but here is why." It's the same thing as saying "I am sorry you feel that way." that's not an apology, there is no accountability in that statement for what you did to make the other person feel that way. It's deflection, it's passing the blame. Do I hate the guy? No. Do I hate the way the guy acts considering he bitches about others acting the way he does? Yes, absolutely. Time will surely tell if he is actually working to better himself in that regard or if he is just doing some damage control as he has in past when he has been called out for something.

I will never understand how you can continue to watch this man after he personally insulted and belittled you for video's where you spoke so highly of him, you are far, FAR more forgiving than I. My first and only exposure to Santoro was spooky bois videos, as every now and then i'll get back into dead by daylight for a little while and consume some community content while i do, i never 100% agreed with spooky boi (and have indeed left comments stating my view) as he takes an extremist view of "you can do literally anything you want in the game, the only thing that matters is how you directly communicate with others of the community" put short I believe there should be some extent of respect in all aspects of interaction, regardless of the medium. So, obviously, i never liked santoro, and was honestly surprised that you had spoken of him as highly as you did, but i suppose he never showed hints of his less than savory side before. In regards to "do you think he can reform for the better/redeem himself, or do you think what's done is done" it's a bit of a grey area for me tbh, I think those was indeed his true colors, and that side will always be a part of him somewhere, regardless of whether he is in a good or bad state, but bettering oneself is never a lost cause and should be strived for in every person, I haven't watched any of his videos, but from what i seen from videos i watched talking about him, he does seem to be striving for a better self, if not solely for the camera, but it counts for something. What follows is just to the discretion of any individuals associated, if one person decides to keep watching his videos, or to cut him out of their routine entirely, that is entirely their judgement and no one else can really definitively say that they should or shouldn't, some people weigh certain actions and changes entirely differently, and morality is a manmade concept, i never watched him before so for me it's an easy choice to just, continue to not watch him.

Honestly I do hope he learns from whats happened.. and do better. Personally the cussing part does not bother me, everyone does it. I do mean everyone. However my problems where how he acted when it comes to the game. Being extremely toxic towards other players, and also going after people for not playing how HE wanted them to play despite the fact that he does not play to his own special rules for other people. This is something I can not stand. This sort of thing is horrid and just adds to the toxic side of DBD. Something that is already out of hand due to people in the past like Ochido. Who also was with a group of people who where also extremely bad but have since left him and changed their ways... Well. For the most part.. Sadly one of them it seems has kinda went back to doing horrible things both in game and out.. ( Sadly Ochido did horrible things outside of gaming as well, something I wont mention anything further about here since the video and topic was not about that. ) Once I finally see Mathew Santoro making good on his word about being better, and not just for a few days to try and placate people temporarily thinking people wont know when he goes back to the way he acted before wont be noticed.. Making him look even worse in my opinion.. Then I will be more forgiving of him. Currently its still to be seen. He also needs to change what he does to people on youtube and twitch. Also something you where unaware of.. The "cancer" incident. Hes lying about what the guy did in the match. He was doing that about all the events spoken about as well sadly. He was also trying to soften what he has done as well. He said more than calling the guy cancer. He has a LOT to make up for.. and trying to deceive people by trying to make what he did less than what actually happen. Just no. Also.. For full disclosure, that cancer remark on top of the other things he said and called that person, and others in that match... He said a lot more than just calling the person cancer.. I will just put it that way.. Things that.. as someone who had so far 4 people who I was very close with die due to cancer.. Would hurt me, as well as completely enrage me. The things he said you really should not say to anyone. More so someone who suffered in the way that person has more so due to it being as recent as it was.

Well Wiz, only time will tell. I understand that Matthew probably feels the need to “perform” and be manically over the top when he streams. I mean, I can’t say that I wouldn’t feel that way myself. And I don’t claim to know the guy’s mind or anything, but the energy he’s putting off feels that way. I hope he calms the hell down, reels himself in a bit, and performs with a bit more class from now on. I think he’ll feel a lot better if he does.

I used to watch Matt until 2017 where I graduated high school and got bored of him because he just kept making the same videos to me. Like, he made another Scariest Creepypasta video and I'm like "dude, didn't you talk about this twice now?" And then I just completely forgot about him until I saw Bills video about Matt, and then linked your channel on his video and yeah. Kinda sad and disappointing to see that he went from one of the most viewed channels to a begger. And all these clips of his Twitch Streams just reminds me of his gaming channel Santoro Gaming, which no longer exists btw. To see him be this wholesome guy to now a toxic sensitive shell of what he used to be is kinda sad

I don't think you went too far. You did a great job and you were as unbiased as you possibly could. It's a bit disappointing because he seemed like such a nice person. He and I are the same age and it was great seeing someone my age succeed back in the day and progress in KZbin. I understand he has some mental health issues going on, but he should still be mindful of what he says and what he does. I realise that he understands he needs to do better, but as you said in the video, it's no excuse to do this. No one is a saint on how people react to others, but people should always be mindful. We live in an age where everything we do online is recorded somehow. I did watch him back in the early 2010's while I was going back to uni again and the one thing I do slightly disagree on is that he did still show a bit of his personality still; albeit not nearly as much as he is now. I hope he's getting the help he needs and he does better for himself. I also subscribed because you're funny as all hell man. LOL. You did a great job and binge watching your other videos now.

Very detailed video good on ya sir! However for me it’s kinda hard to not only come back from this kind of stuff but to leave that part of you behind. Yes I believe in second chances and I’m not gonna belittle him especially when he says he is “making a change” but actions speak louder than words so only time will tell how well his words age. But other than that I won’t say much about him but I will say good on ya for keeping a neutral stance and not bash on him or be on his side entirely you get a sub from me
