What kind of actions does he do that tell us that he “pulls away”? Are these scenarios considered “pull away”: 1. He ghosts for a few days and back with a “how are you doing?” without telling the reason voluntarily? 2. One hour phone talk once every 2-3 weeks, just text once/twice every few days and sometimes no text. 3. Give various reasons to avoid dating while he has 3 weeks off from work just because of a 3 hours flight distance or “busy” with other tasks.

The one thing you said in this that was so important (to me personally) was how a guy will still let you pour into them, even though they don't want you in that way. It's similar to the lesson I recently learned about how some guys will sleep with a woman even though he's not attracted to her- only because "something" is better than "nothing". These are game changers for me, and really puts into perspective what I have been doing wrong all this time, but more so, what I definitely will no longer tolerate.

Unfortunately when men know you like them, they will often go on ego trips - they will string you along, and pretend to be interested when they are not, because they are enjoying the attention. That has happened to me a few times, so now I am much more cautious about letting men know I am attracted to them. That's another thing they frequently do, that type of game-playing, lapping up the attention, besides using women for sex who they don't really like.

I think an important thing to address is also are we using relationships as distractions from being alone? I was going from one relationship to another and attracting the same dynamics which were very unhealthy. And I was also very codependent. I’m taking a break from relationships for at least a year to really just be alone with myself and be OK with sad. I realize that getting in another relationship would be another distraction from feeling the emotions in my heart.

This is the first time I’ve come across you and the first video of yours I’ve watched. I love everything you’ve said. After taking a 2 year break from dating after a toxic relationship, I did a lot of work and healing on myself but have found myself in an unexpected situationship with a man who keeps ghosting me, comes on strong, disappears etc, and was about to fall back into bad patterns of chasing, but then watched this and now know not to bother lol. Hey Matthew! Thank You so much for such valuable input ! You have put a light on things in such a unique way. I’ve never heard anyone put this common situation in such a remarkable way! I really needed to hear this this moment. I’ve experiencing an empty feeling after not being spoken to or text in over 5 weeks. And we both seemed to have hit it off from A to Z from the very beginning. It really hurts when a guy shows all his feelings- and even falls in love. Then silences with no apparent reason. I am connecting myself with my own soul. It is so relaxing than bothering him. Whatever you say how men are. I can see how he is. I only hear his excuses all the times. I stopped being a people pleaser. No more expecting anything. It feels good. Now that am into a stubborn chapter. It is not that I am demotivating myself but I don't see myself that new relationship will help me to trust another person. I am just fed up with same stories that keeps repeating with wrong men😶.
