I love sharing these videos with my grandkids. When I babysit these days, the boys always ask, “Grammy did you bring a craft?” Yours are so great for al of us to follow along with!

Wow I have never made pop ups. But adored them as a child. So magical when reading and exploring as you grow. I have watched your videos just to see how they come to life. I’ve enjoyed them sooo much and to be honest part of the joy is how you narrate. Again thank you. It’s given a lot of joy !

I will be forever grateful for your tutorials! It is such an inspiration to watch this! Thank you Matthew! I really mean it! As a petition, maybe a tutorial for taller pop ups? Kinda like the last page in your DC Super Heroes book! It is one of my favorites!

I'd love to see you demonstrate the way you built any of the major figures from your books. The Big unfolding dragon, fairy palace, fairy circle, etc... Techniques - M-fold, 45 degree fold, V -fold on peaked straddles, Zigzag folds, Best way to deal with pleated v-folds, pull tabs, pivots, dissolving windows, and I'd like to see more about how you go from concept to final implementation. TAgain, thank you for these awesome videos.

I love your master classes a lot! Maybe you could make a master class about making a V fold tower like the one from Rupunzel in your Disney princesses book?

This is amazing as always! I think it'll be interesting if you do some tutorials about "pull tabs", it's one of the most exciting things to me in your books.

Thank you for these insightful tutorials! I love your Transformers Popup book. I've been trying to get some ideas on how to cut-up some real car brochure photos (e.g., Rav4, Prius), and make them transform in my own transforming robot, but it's still so hard to figure out how to go about it. Can you maybe do a future tutorial on how you visualized and created some of your pull-tab Transformers? Love so many of the other books too! Truly amazing work!

Hello, I'm learning a lot from your tutorials. Thank you! It would be interesting to have a tutorial with pull tabs, like the Disney Princess: A Magical Pop-Up World.

Hey Love your work. I am learning so very much. Thanks. I would like to learn about the twisting mechanism with the animals from your book at the beginning of this video. Well.... twisters on a whole. I would also like to learn about making wheels on a car turn.

Thank you for taking the time to post such wonderful videos. I love popups and have been working with them for a while now. Is there a trick or method to measure and place the v folds to assure that the second layer doesn't extend beyond the card?
@MatthewReinhart6 жыл бұрын
A lot of it comes from practice but I do like to place a v-fold, fold the base page, and chop off the excess paper that sticks out beyond it's dimensions.
@DoraFurlong6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I thought that may be the case. For the last pop-up I made, I had to scale down the bat so the wings didn't stick out.

Love your videos. I would like to know how to make a cake with a figure coming out with arms up. Have you ever done this? Thought it would be cute with my face on the figure saying "Happy Birthday". Is this doable?

Thank you so much for sharing all of this information! I’ve tried my hand in making a few pop up pages and have had so much fun with it but haven’t been too successful with the more complicated mechanics. Also is there any advice you would give to someone who is interested in the field of paper engineering/pop up art?
