This art form is truly exquisite, and even when we become adults, the magic of a pop up still we become adults, the magic still excites us with the turn of each imaginative page. You can do a lot of things! Either you can make the paper cutouts on top of the v-fold twister into 2 people, or you can add more mechanisms onto the v-folds and go on from there! Remember that at the point where the v-fold tapes to the paper, there is an opportunity for another mechanism to be placed.

Meaning once you have created your idea with paper how do you create the final artwork on the computer with cut lines, etc. for printing? I hope I'm making sense :-)

I think you made a stop motion video which explains what I was asking. I know you're very busy and may not have time to make the video so correct me if I'm wrong... After you create your dummy mock-up you take it apart and then scan the parts into Adobe Illustrator, create the artwork on layers, etc. and create the cut and fold lines? That's exactly how I do it. I build a pop-up in paper first. Then, carefully take it apart and make die lines, which are all of the pieces made flat with additions like glue tabs/fold lines. That step is in Illustrator. Then after many times of building and testing the pop-up, I can work on the art.
