So its almost 1 in the morning, just finished making these for the first time. It tastes great. I didnt have custard powder 😔 but its still good. The cutting out definitely takes time but hmmmm😋😋😋 it's really good. Thank you hun🥰

Around 40-50 pieces. I'm sure you can get more if you cut it smaller. 4 of these batches will fill a large foil tray (so 2 batches fills a small foil tray)

Either the sugar syrup was too soft to begin with or you covered them when they were too warm. Leave them open to dry.

can you chill the dough for 30 minutes 0r overnight? it is hot I do not feel like deep frying now

You can leave in the fridge overnight. Just let it come to room temperature before you fry it.

What's the reason for it not coming out soft?

Over frying it, mixing it too much or making the dough too hard, not putting enough butter, rolling it too thin. Lots of different reasons why it could happen.
